  • Just think, before computerisation, someone would have had to note down the numbers of every single car in every single train.

I thought that last unit on the first train was a heritage unit or somethinhg, but no, it's just dirty.

  • WOOOOW!!! AWESOME VIDEO!

  • Awesome

  • Hey UP 5550, I saw that engine pulling a doublestacker while I was in Colfax last summer.

  • WOW

    GREAT VIDEO!!!

    5*****

  • is their a crew in the unit @ the end or can they control them from the head end

  • @railman247: The units at the end can be controlled from the head end. They are linked by radio.

  • The note to the end "wash me" it belong to the last locomotive. It should be yellow but in the fact, it was black.

  • what a contrast of DPUs at the end.

  • uh huhhhhh so bascially, this town is shit???

  • Uhhh. No.

  • Great video

  • Six diesals - shame there wasn't a BIG Boy on hand

  • Or as many long time local railfans would wish, a Cab Forward.

  • Do people bother railfans about being out on the grass even if it's private property

  • Someone did come out from one of the businesses to see what I was up to. This is NOT the place to set up a tripod and hang out all day, in case you are wondering.

  • What about the other side of the flyover, as in the bridge part

  • At first, I thought the second DPU was an unpatched SP engine! Definitely needs a bath!

  • that dpu has been in alot of tunnels

  • Haha yeah actually that's what I thought! Either that or a lease unit. :P

I'd love to see someone do that as a weathering job on a model.

  • someone should cut those trees down blocking the clear view of the tracks. it would be perfect then. someone should buy that land and make it a railfan attraction. There's few places were railfans can actually have property of their own.

  • It's possible the trees were planted specifically to block the view of the trains. I heard this area was an empty lot before, but now businesses occupy it.

  • Isn't that dirt road not private property????

  • The dirt road next to the tracks are probably maintenance road for the railroad, which means it's railroad property (and private property).

  • Wow, I'm amazed by the length of an american freight train. Holy crap... those things are LOOONG.

We don't have very long freight trains europe, so it's pretty unusual.

    Great video by the way.

  • Nice work, I am more of a Applegate fan myself. And nice work of catching AMTK 1 in dah lead! I got her trailing ealier last month.

  • W/ the dirt on that last DPU, I can see why SP stuck w/ the smokey gray paint.

  • good video that up unit needed a bath

  • good lord that AC4400 on the end needs a wash! at least UP's units look good like that.

  • Quite the difference between the DPU units.

  • How good is the action here

  • Not too different from the first crossing east of Roseville, or further up the hill at Newcastle, a well-known railfan spot. Typical Donner Pass traffic here.

  • nice catch thanks for posting

  • Nice video! Looked like that engine could really use a bath!

  • Very nice.
