@londonmod95 I'm sure you're not bullshit at bass. even if you dont play 200000000000 beats per second like this guy you can be a great bass player. I'm a bassman too. It's just the problem that playing an unbelievable awesome "Understatement Bass" and showing it on youtube.com is not very exciting
badass man. my band just told me that we're doing this song now so I gotta learn this bassline now. Im just gonna watch u do it a few times and do probabley a slightly-lazier version, ha! Keep it up
Why thank you Stella T & C! King of Noodle ... hey!! I kind of like that ... :) Well it's time you learned it then ... my version is far from totally accurate btw ... it's just a random interpretation really ... a noodle actually ... haha
yeah, the whole song is modeled around the A, D7, E progression, its wicked easy if you listen to it a few times, and to pudsy good work on the bass!!
I'm using my index fingernail ... I close my index finger against my thumb like I'm holding a pick ... but there's no pick ... in this I'm alternating between that technique and regular plucking with my first two fingers ...
I find it easier to use my fingernail than a pick ... never really got on to a pick ... just feels clumsy to me. :)
Very nice, sweet bends. You put six stringers to shame the way you play that thing. You a need a band where you play lead and the guitar player just plays rhythm. That would be groovin'
No, I don't use a pick, I've tried ... I hate having an extra device besides my fingers, but I do and did in this jam, put my thumb and index finger together and use the nail of the index finger as a pick. It's much easier for me to do that, I just drop picks and get them caught in the strings... hehe ... :)
Thanks for the comments :) Improvising comes with time and lots of jamming I think, not worrying about the rigid structure of a bass line in a song, losing the fear of making mistakes and just letting loose, even if it's only a couple notes your jamming on. Doing your own thing and forget about copying other people, although, that's a good start, just not my thing.
Best version I've seen so far! Great job!
