What memories. "How would they explain that to my nan!" has become a catchphrase in our family. This used to be shown virtually every Saturday morning after children's TV and before the afternoon sports programmes began.
I was going to get some longer trousers and a propper boys coat to replace this girly one that Nan got me from the Jumble Sale but Dad spent all the money on a new car.
Wonderful stuff. Haven't seen this ad since i was a kid in the 70's ,when it was shown repeatedly . Seems unbelievable now that a 2 minute tv safety ad warning adults about crossing roads safely and using the subway instead was ever made.
I'm looking for the one about what to do if you get a flood in the house that is really patronising as it says turn off the water and shows someone turning a stop cock lmfao.
it's so funny how WHITE their skin color was in those old times, and how BLONDE their hair. And why don't the women wear burkas and the men turbans? it seems so strange.... how the world has changed in 30 years.
cant believe ive finally found this...one of my earliest memories was watchin this between 'pipkins 'and 'animal kwackers'( look them up for a bit of 70s weirdness)..stayed with me since, great post
The British "public advertising films" are much better than what we had to endure here in the USA during the 60's!! The little boy's voice is adorable. :-) Maybe I would have stayed awake for these! LOL!
wee boy sounds like a young ray winston."anybody tried that with my dad he be fuking dead".

I'd love to know what the music on this is called. It sounds like a Keith Mansfield tune. Does anybody know what it is?
Groonblatt 2 months ago
@Groonblatt: John Cameron - Brass Monkey.. off of 1972 Jazzrock LP - KPM Library. Cameron and Mansfield worked together on various pieces
