hey on that dvd does it have refrenc images for woody? or any other chrecters or was it just buzz? @1ard That ref of Buzz didn't actually come from any dvd, but rather John Lasseter's youtube vids talking about Thinkway's Toy Story Collection. He goes in detail about how they used the digital data to make the toys as accurate as possible. While doing so they show wireframes. so check his video about Woody and there you'll see wires for him. Their even in HD . They don't show its full body from the front view though which is kind of a bummer. You'll see what I mean.

@1ard You still need practice (Im seeing a lot of unwanted lumps) but frankly you might have a better chance than me at getting into the industry. Remember, I'm not in it myself yet either. and your way further than I was at your age, and in some ways even my current age (22).

@lsullivancorbell I just tested it on my iphone, works on my end. All I can think of is maybe its blocked in your country either on mobile devices, or just in general. I think it got blocked by youtube in some parts of the world, something to do with the Randy Newman track I used. Once they put ads on it they also disabled mobile views. I re enabled it, not sure if that reversed it or not.
@opoptimus The trilogy might be over but there are still Toy Story Toons to look forward to. There's also going to be a new Toy Story short attached to Cars 2. Still plenty of life left in this franchise.
@TDawgMan9 that's too vague of a question for me to answer really. a lot of times things start as a cube. You can add and remove points and faces until you get something completely different, or you can start from scratch. Go into the point edit mode and experiment. Read the anim8or manual to learn more about the interface. Search for tutorials.
this is amazing! i recently downloaded anim8or and love experimenting with ideas, but as a huge fan of toy story do you think you might be able to do any tutorials of how you did some of this, something simple would be fine, like the luxo lamp. id really appreciate it XD
@desiree3579860 I dont know about tutorials, but I can tell you the Luxo lamp was fairly simple. its mostly cube primatives, with 2 sets of lathed shapes. the hardest part was probably the springs, which I had to to do manually. Though there is now plug in support, which would make it very simple. Post on their forums, they're good at helping newbies. Just don't be too ambitious all at once. baby steps first.

I didnt ask them directly about it, but I did ask Lee Unkrich (TS3 director) on twitter and he told me he'd get back with me. about 5 days later my render was removed, and I received an email from their legal department saying they take this very seriously, yada yada. basically saying that they removed it and I'm not allowed to talk about it. oops. But yeah, they covered their tracks afterwords, claiming they were unaware.
@dacarfreak2000 yeah I know, I havent gotten around to it because I'm going to scrap that entire track. The loop isn't big enough or the right shape so I'm going to redo it. No sense making the extra pieces for it just yet.

I wasn't planing on uploading it, but I guess I wouldnt rule it out. But I wouldn't do it unless and until I can say its completed.
Im not too fond of giving others acess to my project files, I cant help but think someone else will take credit (again), or abuse it in other ways.
And wouldnt a lot of work need to be done to convert it into something game ready? I think a lot of stuff would get lost in the format conversion, but Im not too familar with how game mods are made.
Well i can see what you mean there with stealing stuff and claim the rights of it, it happend to me to so i know how "boring" it is.
Well, i can try to rip the models from a disney game or something, i don't know if that's legal but if its not i'll make my own room instead. And turning the models and making them into a map isn't that hard doing, maybe some models will be lost in progress but i'll build em up again. I can give you a link of a map i've done if you are intressted.
Despite its name, its not that good for animation. Its strongest aspect is in modeling. It is limiting in what it can do, but in some ways it makes it easier to use, because there are less buttons. In other ways its harder because you'll be looking for workarounds for things other programs do with ease. Its a good entry level app though. Give it a shot, its less than 2 Mb, and requires no installation. Follow some tuts, ask for help in the forums. Try not to get frustrated too quickly.
Well. To think Lego clamps down like nazis when anyone leaks their designs to the fansites, then they do something like this. They deserve whatever's coming to them for this.
