The phatty definitely has more low-end, but it sounds so muffled in the highs/mids. The Rogue has warmer/grittier mids and highs. Is there any way to get more bit out of the highs/mids on the phatty? Perhaps changing the pole number?
i kinda like the cleaner sound of the LP. the rougue sounds a bit thinner too to me for some reason, like the LP has better bottom end in its sounds, it sounds fuller to my ears.
No doubt the vintage moog sounds much much better. I have a Prodigy and bought a Phatty so I can have a modern moog on stage (ie. with midi, presets etc). It could be a great option if the Phatty was not so unreliable... I have issues with it's grounding (it acts weird when connected to various electric outlets in various places - i.e the leds start to roll by themselves and it freezes). Moog tech support blame my house ground wiring and says it because I have a ground look in my studio :/
@cprostudio Oh come on, there is virtually no difference in sound at all between them. With eyes closed I bet you couldn't tell if they were in a track. Not only that but the midi and reliability factors far outway any miniscule advantage the original may or may not have.
@maccagrabme Can you tell the difference between shades of red? Does all colour reds have the same emmotional impact on you when you view them? Before you put an instrument in a track you play it and explore the sound, the rogue sounds more able to connect and grab to me than the LP and this will offer a better and more exciting exploration in melody / riff development.
This is a really cool comparison. I have nearly this identical rig, except instead of a Rogue I have the MG-1 Concertmate. Combined, they cover a lot of ground.
Wow I had a Rogue, it was amazing. Great to hear them both together. They have subtle differences especially when going up or down the scale. I love them both.
The lil phatty sounds smoother, the rogue sounds harsher. I prefer the rogue. Thanks for this comparison because now I now which one I'd buy if I had the choice. I'd prob get the rogue.
i think i'd be up myself to say that the rogue sounds better, i think they both sound marginally different and i'd be very happy with both. Saying that, despite the fact that the rogue is cheaper and cool just cos it's almost 30 years old, the litte phatty is so pretty i'd go for that if i had the money
i'd go with the rogue for anyone trying to decide. one because you can get them for half the price of the LP on ebay. the last one i saw on there was like 550 or something plus 17 for shipping. 2nd of all i think it has way more analogue warmth than the LP. and if you're not buying a moog for it's analogue warmth than don't waste your money on a moog? just get a digital synth for way cheaper =b
Touche. Well that's cool, thanks for the comparison. I'm looking for a Rogue; more directly, sounds from the Rogue. Would you be interested in making some lead samples for me in 24bit? Triangle Square types mainly. If so we could arrange a deal or trade samples off of my voyager.
Your not making any adjustments on your Rogue or Phatty. How are you able to sync them up without touching the interfaces? Are you sure your not using the MIDI on both synths to control a VST? What are you doing off screen?
The adjustments were made when the camera was turned off. It actually took me quite a long time to come up with sounds that were as close as I could get them on the two instruments.
The Rogue does not have MIDI. The audio track is authentic, as presented.
I have played Voyagers in stores several times and thought that I would absolutely love to have one. But $3,000+ for a monophonic analog synth was always just too much coin for me, and the Little Phatty can make all of the screamin' lead sounds that I want anyway.
I sold both my blue voyager & Andromeda about 5 yrs ago when I stopped music. Im up and running again now and I dont miss the voyager, but I do miss the Andromeda and im finding it extremely hard to get hold of 1 now & the Little Phatty caught my eye & stock is available you see.
From doing a bit of research it looks like the spectrum of sounds the Phatty can produce is wider than the mini or voyager; although they are a little sub bass light but thats not a problem for me. Just to confuse the issue further there is a midi'd Source available as well
Sounds like the Rogue has a bit more drive in it's filter....maybe the Little Phatty just needs a little bit more drive....anyone else get what I'm saying?
Are you hooking these both through your Lexicon? If so, are you running it through an effects loop through a mixer, so you can apply the effects to both?
I had to selll my Moog Rogue I bought it new in 1983, had to let it go for $400, I want it back, but I didn't have any other equip to go with it really.. Where did you get your Rogue?
The LP sounds smoother and deeper than the Rogue. Both are fine instruments, I just rather have the LP though. And I think also the daft name has something to do with it...
i really prefer te LP - the sound is so much more deeper if you emulate the roque - it's just that awesome sound - but - doesn't any moog have something of this wonderful sound?
Or perhaps you might want to save money by buying a realistic concertmate MG-1, the radio shack version... It's very similar, but no pitch or mod wheel, but it does have glide! They're about $300-400 (US Dollars).
Actually, the mod and pitch controllers are an integral part of the Rogue. Without them one would lose 50% of the playability in my humble opinion. I love my Rogue.
The MG-1 actually has an extra feature, a polyphonic single tone organ built in. I've owned both, and the MG-1 is far more versatile for this one simple reason. However, the rogue has a much better bass and can produce far meaner tones. They are very similar in some ways, yet have very different personalities.
if people had the the LP in 1981, they would have preferred it to the rogue. rogue has more edge, lp is smoother and sounds like there is more technology behind the sound.
While the patches are the "same," there is definitely still a noticable difference. The LP sounds more modern, though it's still got a great sound. Wouldn't mind having both, but I'm perfectly satisfied with just my Rogue. And not to be nitpicky, but I think the Rogue actually came out in '81, not '82.
Even though the Little Phatty is "true Moog" (?) and manufactured by the company, you have to admit that the tiny Rogue sounds warmer on pretty much all the examples here!
I agree... I know there's a lot of people who like the rogue better merely because it's legendary. A lot of the sounds are almost identical, but some sounds the rogue has a softer attack and more twirl to it. You could probably get that out of the little phatty too with some fine tuning. But lets wait and see. Maybe someday the little phatty will be old school and cool too.
Thanks Keybrdwizrd -top videos. Ive got both Rogue and Phatty-the phatty is too complex a machine:in my case it went back to moog 3 times-bugs,electronic glitches + to be in tune took 12 mins before I could play. The Rogue starts in tune-doesn't have glitches/electronic parameters so close it causes problems + no midi to upset its internals-at the price the Phatty is I would expect better.So:-Rogue real 80's raw sound -Phatty a replica of that sound -take your pick!
This is a great video. Thanks for posting. I prefer the Rogue over the LP. The LP is a little harsher sounding IMO. Rogue has less bite, a little more subtlety. Maybe the difference between vinyl (Rogue) record and a CD (Little Phatty). Of course MIDI, stable tuning and memory can't be beat.
The LP has a more "full/solid" sound, while the rogue's sound is more "hollow". Still, hearing them in duet is beautify. Shame we couldn't hear an expansion on the first piece w/ a bass-chord line coming-in.
Rogue sounds raw and natural. Little Phatty sounds like it's using some post processing, bass enhance and stereo widing. Also lacks much high end (CUTTING CRISPNESS IS WHAT UNDISTURBED ANALOG SOUNDS LIKE)
There is no post processing in the LP. The sound is 100% analog. The only digital circuitry is in the preset storage. Don't forget that a 20 year old synth will not sound exactly like a modern synth just because the transistors and IC chips are of a newer more precise design in the new synths.
@TheRealistCanuck i think he means that the synths are atleast moving away from digital and trying to either be analog or emulate analog- after years of crap from the 90s on finally people are returning to the classic 70s stuff- like dave smith moog etc- but i doubt they match the original as the parts are obselete(filters caps) etc -!
The Rogue has a rounder sounding square wave and maybe sounds slightly more monstrous when the oscillators beat against each other. Otherwise, the Little Phatty will do the job just fine. Both of these synths are post-Bob in design, but maintain some of his circuitry.
The both sound great. I think that they sound too close to determine wich is better than the other. They are both Moogs FFS! Still, I'd take the LP over the Rogue. It's new, it has more things to play with and midi. Always nice!
I hope this does not show up multiple times, but I was wrong, the MG has two VCO's making is competitive with the Rogue. Rogue has more range and better controls....MG has no mod wheel. there are some vids on youtube to show off the mg.
I owned both for extensive years. and to be honest i never cared much for the mg. the features were lacking and it didnt cut it in the leads department like the rogue. if you can get a mg for cheap by all means do. but if you have a choice go for a rogue. but in my opinion its better to just pick one of these up. this was the last synth that will ever have bob's input. and there new which means much more stability.
I have had a rogue and a Pro-1. They are great mono-synths no doubt but given the closeness in sound quality there is no doubt in my mind the Phatty is the one to have with more modern feature set and memory spots....not to mention interfaces/midi and newer components. The Stage edition is best but you can get good deals on the Tribute sometimes.
I played an MG-1 at Radio Shack many years ago. Hard to remember the feature set but it was a single oscillator machine as I remember. Rogue is two oscillators....much more complex sound. Perhaps Michael can weigh in on the Rogue which I believe was competitive with the SC Pro-1 except the Pro-1 had a cool sequencer.
Make a whole song, make a whole song! This guy should really put out a record and a video. I love what he is playing and his arm movements in the biginning. Hey Keybdwizrd message me, let's get you a deal.
I think we have to give our Keyboard Wizard major kudo's on his programming. Rogue has no memory slots and for that alone I would go LP. The programming is stellar. Thanks Michael.
Hmmm in that very lst example I question the settings as the rogue really blows away the little phatty, just in that last one the rogue sounds so vintage and true and the phatty is kinda mediocre...im curious if you can remotely get close to that last patch with more intensity on the phatty...maybe a littleEQ on the high end and see if it can nail it.
Is that in comparison with other synths made in that time? Could you please roughly say a couple of minutes after it should be tuned again after some intensly playing. :)
do you guys think that if i buy the little phatty with the editor librarian, i can make the little phatty even more similar to the rogue or the source or what have you?
They sound so similar. But, I prefer my pitch and mod wheels directly to the left of the keyboard. So with that, I prefer the Little Phatty over the Rougue.
moogs are the best I hear but are so expensive for a poor guy like me a thousand bucks is alot. but im saving for one in the near future. cheers to you guys and cheers to keyboard wizard for the awesome videos!
Want do add something: I don't know how LP works, and I don't want to question your skills, but do you think it is wise to have your oscs amplified all the way to the top? I see you did it all the time. It gets overdriven, and doesn't get louder, you know - that may explain why LP sounds much cleaner.
I own Moog Rogue too. I can't say Rogue sounds 100% better that LP, they sound different. But I think Rogue sounds more authentic - I and my wallet prefer Rogue: dirty, nasty sound - LP: clear sound.
I love my Rogue, wouldn't even consider selling it...
I have been a roque man for 25 yrs. I recently modified it with a sub-oscillator and velocity-sensitivity (with some help from my pro-solo midi box). I have the illest Roque on the planet. Will post video soon.
LP sounds pretty good next to the Rogue. The Rogue wasn't exactly the pinnacle of Moog synthesis, though. The LP sounds fatter on some of these patches, like there's another VCO. Rogue comes off thin. Between the two I'd have the LP, but man, for 200 bucks more you can start a Dot Com system.
Nice comparision. I personally think the LP sounds a bit smoother and more refined in the high end. The rogue was more raspy and mellow. I preferred the bass on the rogue though.
I think they both sound great but personally prefer the LP. It has more flexibility in terms of sound programming, and I find it difficult to work without MIDI and patch memory.
It's so subjective trying to judge this over the internet. The wizard deserves applause for dialing in the instruments for the comparison. In some ways the LP was warmer than the Rogue, in others the Rogue was more organic and offered more nuances (more ragged around the edges). Probably would also boil down to the outstanding features and advantages the LP provides over the rogue.
i prefered some of the tones from the Rogue over the LP and vice versa...so id say im 50/50 over them
i had a loan of my lecturers Moog Prodigy 4 a few months and never wanted to giv it bak!...the filthy bass sounds were incredible and had lots of punch while still retaining the warmth of the tone!
i dont like the new moogs and i think its messed up it seems like there just cashing in now on the old moogs rep. they dont sound any better then the other stuff out right now and there charging a rediculous price for them. there gonna kill mogs rep. now the rogue, thats a synth!
Follow up to my earlier comment: I was so inspired by your video I hunted down a Rogue and am much happier now than with the LP. The Rogue has half the features but twice the sound (and half the price!).
i like em both ... very nice sounding machines. i can imagine if you are a hardcore moog freak you just wanna have em both. the phatty sounds a bit more louder and present. he rouge glides more, more gentle in a way.
i have changed my mind, the rogues interface is just sooo much better. the phatty doesnt show waveforms u just have to know what the wave forms sound like. plus i choose knobs and switches over buttons anyday.
this doesn't make sense... neither synth "shows" waveforms. If you mean little pictures of the waveforms on the control panel, the Phatty has those, marked around the Oscillator control knob. I can see how you'd prefer the Rogue interface overall, but they both have waveform indicators...
haha man u lucky i checked today to see how much a rogue moog (just check the price i still want the LP) theres one on sale right now for $100 on ebay
The rouge sound is more "phased ou" in a random and pleasing way to the (of the repeated notes jumped a whole octave while playing the third D at 2:13) , the rouge sounds more open,I prefer the rouge to be honest.
How comes all the rogue demo's i hear sound like it has a flanger or something on it, whenever a note is released? Is that just its natural sound?
Its like a metallic slight ringing or echo or something. I'd say its just my comp, but I seem to notice it only on everybody's rogue demo's on here

You nailed it with that bass sound.
The Rogue sounds a tad dirtier and the LP sounds a bit clean.
The Little Phatty is in my opinion the best analog sounding synth on the market right now.

i prefer the rogue, more specifically, the drift in its oscillator
i think it's really clear in the first patch
the LP sounds very precise, but you can hear very clear detuning effect on the rogue which makes it more 'alive'
that said, in many other patches the difference is not much ...

TheRealistCanuck 3 years ago
There is no post processing in the LP. The sound is 100% analog. The only digital circuitry is in the preset storage. Don't forget that a 20 year old synth will not sound exactly like a modern synth just because the transistors and IC chips are of a newer more precise design in the new synths.

keybdwizrd, you are a god

this is one of the times when I have to say that the newer synth sounds MORE analog. Kudos to the LP

2:05 proves you wrong.
TheRealistCanuck 3 years ago 3
@TheRealistCanuck i think he means that the synths are atleast moving away from digital and trying to either be analog or emulate analog- after years of crap from the 90s on finally people are returning to the classic 70s stuff- like dave smith moog etc- but i doubt they match the original as the parts are obselete(filters caps) etc -!

The top one is awesome imo.

i dont like it when people call little phatty LP it makes me think theyre talking about a LP filter
killanator21 3 years ago
The Rogue has a rounder sounding square wave and maybe sounds slightly more monstrous when the oscillators beat against each other. Otherwise, the Little Phatty will do the job just fine. Both of these synths are post-Bob in design, but maintain some of his circuitry.

Actually Bob designed the Little Phatty. It was his last hurrah before he died.

Thanks for the time and effort mate. It's a great demo. I like them both, but to me, the LP is warmer.
nickeax 3 years ago
Put a korg ms 2000 there and you'll find out that sounds better than those two together and it is not analogue.
Not to mention the price difference.
That's my oponion, moogs are preaty dead i think,a lot of money for some phatty sounds,I f you afford that kind of money
Doepfer makes the difference.
amnisiakos 3 years ago
If you really want to make that comparison, I A/B my microKORG (the guts of the MS2000) against my Minimoog, on my channel.
So YOU can be the judge.
nickeax 3 years ago
Which video is it?I am really interested to hear that.
amnisiakos 3 years ago
Go to my 'Playlists' and it's under 'Synth Zone'. I can't post links... :-)
nickeax 3 years ago
Do you mean the micro x by korg?
Because i can't find a microkorg on your channel or i am completely blind. :)

I did check it out that for that... the Moog was certainly the winner.
PilferMusic 3 years ago
The both sound great. I think that they sound too close to determine wich is better than the other. They are both Moogs FFS! Still, I'd take the LP over the Rogue. It's new, it has more things to play with and midi. Always nice!
kaffekick 3 years ago
youshould have detuned both synths the same!
The Rougue's detune is much more narrow.
The reso too isn't as high on the Rogue...
Not convincing.
oryjen 3 years ago
this proves mainly that the little phatty can sound like the the moog rogue - which is the cheapest moog ever to be produced...
zahush76 3 years ago
Ah, yes, but what it doesn't show is that the Little Phatty can make gobs of sounds that the Rogue cannot. :)
keybdwizrd 3 years ago
I hope this does not show up multiple times, but I was wrong, the MG has two VCO's making is competitive with the Rogue. Rogue has more range and better controls....MG has no mod wheel. there are some vids on youtube to show off the mg.
newpro5657 3 years ago
I owned both for extensive years. and to be honest i never cared much for the mg. the features were lacking and it didnt cut it in the leads department like the rogue. if you can get a mg for cheap by all means do. but if you have a choice go for a rogue. but in my opinion its better to just pick one of these up. this was the last synth that will ever have bob's input. and there new which means much more stability.
mediawasteland 3 years ago
Also, what do you like better the Rogue or the MG-1 ?
Lucid1013 3 years ago
I have had a rogue and a Pro-1. They are great mono-synths no doubt but given the closeness in sound quality there is no doubt in my mind the Phatty is the one to have with more modern feature set and memory spots....not to mention interfaces/midi and newer components. The Stage edition is best but you can get good deals on the Tribute sometimes.
newpro5657 3 years ago
I played an MG-1 at Radio Shack many years ago. Hard to remember the feature set but it was a single oscillator machine as I remember. Rogue is two oscillators....much more complex sound. Perhaps Michael can weigh in on the Rogue which I believe was competitive with the SC Pro-1 except the Pro-1 had a cool sequencer.
newpro5657 3 years ago
Make a whole song, make a whole song! This guy should really put out a record and a video. I love what he is playing and his arm movements in the biginning. Hey Keybdwizrd message me, let's get you a deal.
Lucid1013 3 years ago
I think we have to give our Keyboard Wizard major kudo's on his programming. Rogue has no memory slots and for that alone I would go LP. The programming is stellar. Thanks Michael.
newpro5657 3 years ago
Thank you!
keybdwizrd 3 years ago
Hmmm in that very lst example I question the settings as the rogue really blows away the little phatty, just in that last one the rogue sounds so vintage and true and the phatty is kinda mediocre...im curious if you can remotely get close to that last patch with more intensity on the phatty...maybe a littleEQ on the high end and see if it can nail it.
chromeshadow 3 years ago
does the rogue go out of tune fast?
HammondB200 3 years ago
No, it seems to stay in tune pretty well once it has warmed up.
keybdwizrd 3 years ago
Is that in comparison with other synths made in that time? Could you please roughly say a couple of minutes after it should be tuned again after some intensly playing. :)
HammondB200 3 years ago
id rather have a lp
tomkingsays 3 years ago
The Rogue definately sounds dirtier and more analog (even with overload turned up on the LP) thanks to the older circuitry.
CHENZKING 3 years ago
Rogue sounds better
TheRyowolf 3 years ago
rogue has awsome sustain
HammondB200 3 years ago
they sound similar but moog rogue def wins in my opinion. it has that extra depth that draws your ears in
mrmatthewkelly 3 years ago
do you guys think that if i buy the little phatty with the editor librarian, i can make the little phatty even more similar to the rogue or the source or what have you?
frehleytor 3 years ago
They sound so similar. But, I prefer my pitch and mod wheels directly to the left of the keyboard. So with that, I prefer the Little Phatty over the Rougue.
98keys 3 years ago
moogs are the best I hear but are so expensive for a poor guy like me a thousand bucks is alot. but im saving for one in the near future. cheers to you guys and cheers to keyboard wizard for the awesome videos!
Freedomcall82 3 years ago
I'm surprised how much they sound alike. The Rogue sounds a little more distorted on some of those patches though.
t0rment2004 3 years ago
That's because it has analog overdrive circuitry, which was always on, I see (mixer value = 10 - overdrive!!!).
You don't have to use it! Without it, everything will sound much more cleaner.
PimpMyFahrrad 3 years ago
i prefer the sound of a rogue
GamerConor 4 years ago
Thanks, but I don't have any... These things are just improvised for the moment...

Nice work. It made me buy a Rogue for about half the cost of a LP.
Any chance of sharing your Rogue patch cards online for free? Nominal fee?
KingVidiot 4 years ago
how would the moog mg-1 compare and where would the minimoog voyager fit in?
markcatarina 4 years ago
Want do add something: I don't know how LP works, and I don't want to question your skills, but do you think it is wise to have your oscs amplified all the way to the top? I see you did it all the time. It gets overdriven, and doesn't get louder, you know - that may explain why LP sounds much cleaner.
PimpMyFahrrad 4 years ago
I own Moog Rogue too. I can't say Rogue sounds 100% better that LP, they sound different. But I think Rogue sounds more authentic - I and my wallet prefer Rogue: dirty, nasty sound - LP: clear sound.
I love my Rogue, wouldn't even consider selling it...
PimpMyFahrrad 4 years ago
I have been a roque man for 25 yrs. I recently modified it with a sub-oscillator and velocity-sensitivity (with some help from my pro-solo midi box). I have the illest Roque on the planet. Will post video soon.
FractalJim 4 years ago
LP sounds pretty good next to the Rogue. The Rogue wasn't exactly the pinnacle of Moog synthesis, though. The LP sounds fatter on some of these patches, like there's another VCO. Rogue comes off thin. Between the two I'd have the LP, but man, for 200 bucks more you can start a Dot Com system.
finemusk 4 years ago
the little phatty was brighter and cleaner sounding than the rogue which was a bit dark and had a bit more of a fuzzy edge to it.
houseofglass21 4 years ago
New: MIDI, warranty, available parts.
Old: Made for Radio Shack, no MIDI, good luck on parts and repair techs.
Sound: LP has memories.
Winner: Little Phatty.

At bass sounds is where the rogue kills the LP, but they're both great synth.

man i gotta say i think i prefer the rogue
seems to be a bit nastier....which i prefer
kotep777 4 years ago
Nice comparision. I personally think the LP sounds a bit smoother and more refined in the high end. The rogue was more raspy and mellow. I preferred the bass on the rogue though.
woot192837 4 years ago
I think they both sound great but personally prefer the LP. It has more flexibility in terms of sound programming, and I find it difficult to work without MIDI and patch memory.
keybdwizrd 4 years ago
The Little Phatty sounds phenomenal, but I'm inclined to say the Rogue has prettiers filters and a smoother glide. What do you think wizard?
TheRyowolf 4 years ago
It's so subjective trying to judge this over the internet. The wizard deserves applause for dialing in the instruments for the comparison. In some ways the LP was warmer than the Rogue, in others the Rogue was more organic and offered more nuances (more ragged around the edges). Probably would also boil down to the outstanding features and advantages the LP provides over the rogue.

I bought a new Voyager 'bout two years ago. I love it but I miss my model D. 'nuff said. Thanks for the A/B.

I thought the LP sounded better. I just like it's more defined sound. (Oppinion) to me, the rougue is a little too mellow.

keybrwizrd u rule..im a big fan!
i prefered some of the tones from the Rogue over the LP and vice versa...so id say im 50/50 over them
i had a loan of my lecturers Moog Prodigy 4 a few months and never wanted to giv it bak!...the filthy bass sounds were incredible and had lots of punch while still retaining the warmth of the tone!
keep up the awesome vids dude!
jamesallan87 4 years ago
ive never heard of the Moog Rouge, it looks like people make a pretty big fuss about how awsome they are, whats so great about them?
phase00x1 4 years ago
Some people seem to prefer the sound of the old Moog oscillators as opposed to the new ones.
keybdwizrd 4 years ago
I owned a roguefor years. forgive my ignorance, but how were you changing the sounds??
B17MIKE 4 years ago
Moving the knobs and sliders while the camera wasn't recording.
keybdwizrd 4 years ago
Rogue, hands down. It has a much richer and warmer sound, as much as a youtube video can portray actual sounds.

rogue wins.
supersoulrecs 4 years ago
i dont like the new moogs and i think its messed up it seems like there just cashing in now on the old moogs rep. they dont sound any better then the other stuff out right now and there charging a rediculous price for them. there gonna kill mogs rep. now the rogue, thats a synth!
jonnypatrick145 4 years ago
disagree, from that video they both sound great, with the little phatty just having a more open, alive and interesting sound.
vitruviancat 4 years ago
Follow up to my earlier comment: I was so inspired by your video I hunted down a Rogue and am much happier now than with the LP. The Rogue has half the features but twice the sound (and half the price!).
phlattgetit 4 years ago
i like em both ... very nice sounding machines. i can imagine if you are a hardcore moog freak you just wanna have em both. the phatty sounds a bit more louder and present. he rouge glides more, more gentle in a way.
cheers!!
devmiles 4 years ago
The winner is the LP, much more deeper and fatter in the sound
adrian480 4 years ago
thank you very much for posting this...now i can shut everyone up that says my LP Stage Edition doesn't sound like a 'true moog'.
television321man 4 years ago
rogues mod and pitch wheels dont work nearly as well as the lp. i like the lp better. personal preference
grandmaos 4 years ago
i have changed my mind, the rogues interface is just sooo much better. the phatty doesnt show waveforms u just have to know what the wave forms sound like. plus i choose knobs and switches over buttons anyday.
grandmaos 4 years ago
this doesn't make sense... neither synth "shows" waveforms. If you mean little pictures of the waveforms on the control panel, the Phatty has those, marked around the Oscillator control knob. I can see how you'd prefer the Rogue interface overall, but they both have waveform indicators...

wow i was gonna buy a little phatty but now i really dont know. i definatly like the suond of the rogue alittle mroe!

The rouge sound is more "phased ou" in a random and pleasing way to the (of the repeated notes jumped a whole octave while playing the third D at 2:13) , the rouge sounds more open,I prefer the rouge to be honest.
