@rogelioVela1985 These songs never left my head even after all these years. I literally spent a whole summer playing this game and pretty much nothing else.
I use to play this game all the time. I got to good at it. The AI is predictable however I had a lot of fun with it. I have played PTO II and thought it wasnt very good compared to the original. I have also played PTO IV and kicked the crap out of the ai there too. PTO IV was not as good as the original in the aspect that you had to go in the guided path that the game offers. The original you could get lost in the pacific taking many different paths to your final destination.
is it possible to play this game over the intenet? i know theres a 2p mode buy you have to hand of the controller every 4 hours, maybey a home rule of no personal fleets so it is day turns.. i think that would be epic, just send a save file back and forth every day
i believe its possible but u got to know how to set up in those snes emulator programs and u got to have ur friend ready so he can join ur game and ip address. i never done it myself before but i think they got that option. check it out on your snes emulator program. it might say something there
this game is the shit it still rocks.. the interface is tedious, and there are a lot of combat inadequacies and bugs.. i played it for probably 8 years straight to the point i know exactly how the ai makes every decision, so its no fun anymore, i wish i could edit the ai as i can beat it on difficulty 10 no sweat in under a year, if anyone wants some spoilers on how to beat the ai message me, anyone know how to mod a game like this?
I've never won by conquering all bases, just by sinking the enemy's fleet. Depending on what level I play, it can take me a couple years (game time, of course) building up my industrial base, developing advanced warships, and accumulating armaments (probably to the point of overkill) before going on the offensive. I concentrate mainly on NCV's, NCruisers, and NSubs and only use my battleships to defend Hawaii. I'll also hold Midway to protect San Francisco and Los Angeles.
I'm trying to get into this game, but Lord is it detailed. I'm used to Gemfire, so this is going to take some time. After watching some documentaries on the Battle of Midway this week, I really want to know more about the Pacific Theater.
that's cool. it is good to study and know about the pacific theater. I know a bit of the battle but I know a lot of the airplanes and some of the warships in the pacific ocean.
There is a video game on xbox360 or PC battlestations midway, it is like battlefield 1942, a another WW2 game. Both fun to play.
This time just for fun ill play the japanese. They have the most intrestign arsenal of ships. Back then I always liked the american fleet for its wider aircraft carrier selections
i posted the links on where to download the snes roms and emulator program to run the snes roms. its at the video description. I still have the actual snes game, my brother bought it from toys r us tens of years ago, during the snes age :D
Thanks for the reply. I did miss this game thou for this time the graphics is really stone age. but heck I like the game very much. It was the first strategy game I played

On the Sega Genesis version you can attack Los Angeles if you bypass Hawaii all together.

I did take a gander at the Battlestations: Midway game on here. I'll have to see if I can find it.
After watching "Battle 360" on the History Channel, I just fell in LOVE with the Mitsubishi Zero. That plane was sweet!
