Wait, wait, wait. Did he just say that it weighs a third as much a typical midsizer? Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a smart weigh about 1600lbs? Either he thinks the smart weighs about 1100lbs, or that an average midsize sedan weighs 4800lbs. *facepalm*

Safe is always a passionate conversation about the Smart. Yes, it is small and the absorption areas may not big enough, but accident are just that, accidents. Hard to say if you can survive it or not. This crash test are mandatory to give us a safety number to live with (and pass the test), but no body want to crash his car in any way, and I feel secure while driving my one. By the way, my Smart-Pure is giving near 40 MPG on rural driving and around 45MPG on highway.

In europe this car has a start/stop function. The engine goes off at idle and starts automatic when you put your foot of the break. When you hit the gas, its already started. In this version, its the car with the best fuel economy, even when comparing it to hybrids.

I am sorry, but the Smart is nothing but a marketing hoax. This car has the worst transmission/powertrain combo of any car in the market today.

I have a 2008 MINI Cooper S Clubman (172HP Turbocharged engine) and I am getting 33 MPG in the city and 39 MPG highway, all in a car that is SUPERIOR in every conceivable way to the Smart. People don't be fooled. Any car is better than the "Smart".

Its not made for "POWER" its made for compact, easy city driving. "Any" car cant parallel park in a tiny space. Try parking a chevy cobalt in a 4 foot box.

MY MOMS 2008 Hyundia Elantra gets better MPG then this ..and its a 4 door ....this it to FAISY213 and all the other dumb ass's DO THE MATH
