Rohan's theme is more solemn and beautiful than gondor's theme, while gondor's is just plain out epic, but sort of emotionless; just like the two kingdoms. Shore was a genius.

Well actually Tolkien doesnt have cavarly arrive at Helm's Deep. Its not even Eomer. Gandalf brings 2000 infantry under the command of Erkenbrand, a Rohan general completely left out of the movies.

Yes, Uruks have the longer spears typical of phalanx formation, which was used to great effect by Alexander the Great IRL history. In which case, if you think about Aragorn's advice to Theodren to "ride out and meet them head on"...that was bad advice, b/c a good phalanx formation would cleave a cavalry charge, rendering it useless. OF course, Tolkien explains this away with Eomers downhill charge by having the Sun blind the Uruks vision, rendering them incapable of forming the phalanx.

no actually urk hai are much stronger than orcs, and there were 5 thousand orcs, much better tactics.urks were known as the most elite orcs. reagular orcs are more numerous, but much more weak

Tolkien is awsome! But I really gotta tip my hat to Peter Jackson. Obviously turning those books into movies was no easy task, and he had to change and leave things out, but overall, he did an amazing job if you ask me. You combine these two with Howard Shore and they were able to make some incredible movies. (And don't worry, to books are great too, i just recently watch the movies again, and can't get over it)
