wow, this is the probably the most authentic lindy hop choreography I've seen on popular TV dance shows, with actual swing outs! I'm impressed sort of. Couldn't concentrate because they got the audience clapping on the wrong beat though...

@katachi Dax and Sarah were on live to dance. I was a little let down by their routine, but at least it was a good example of how Lindy Hop is done instead of bad Neo Swing that keeps popping up all over the place.

ricky is good but this dance does favour the smaller person, people who are tall, it makes em look gangly and uncomfortable. power to both of them. i'm still team cola haha chris my fave from the start as he seemed more down to earth than the others did

@scousechick87 I couldn't disagree more. Some of the best male Lindy Hoppers in the world are tall and well above average - Kevin St. Laurent, Bernard (with Anne-Helene) and Sakarias Larson. They don't look gangly because they have good posture. The Ball-roomers are trying to imitate a look, they don't realise that the Lindy Hop look comes from trying to stay balanced at genuine high dance speeds. Lindy Hoppers look they do because of body mechanics - these ballroom dance don't

well, they're obviously not lindy hoppers, but whatever. The worst part was having to listen to the audience clap on the wrong beat. that would drive me nuts if i was out there. At least the bald guy knew when to clap while he was waiting in the wings at one point

unfortunately, this was an attempt by ballroom dancers to swing. they didn't even get the basic swingout down...the girls' footwork was sloppy =/ i think they need to stop catering to what people "think" is lindy and really perform some true lindy.

I agree with scoutz0rs, Lindy isnt just for short people. I'm nearly two meters and I absolutely love it.

It's rather obvious that these guys don't have that much experience in Lindy, they could use some more bounce and jazz up their footwork. But they get away with it because they are clearly great dancers.

Where are people getting the idea that Lindy Hop is only for short people? That's entirely untrue. Authentic Lindy hoppers (not ballroom dancers doing Lindy) come in all sizes. Just look at ULHS videos. And hell, Frankie Manning wasn't short.

actually the song Sing Sing sing is originally by Louie Prima 1936 and has been tributed by many with the most popular version being Benny Goodman, 1937 featuring the rockin Gene Krupa on drums. Give credit where it is due, or don't give it at all. :-)

I loved this joint routine - it was really lively and funny (and although I was Team Cola all the way, I felt terribly bad for Ricky when he fluffed that lift, because otherwise his performance would have been totally exemplary).

I'm a prof dance-trainer in Holland, and we agree overhere, that the funniest has won but not the best one. With both couple's the choreo didn't went well, but overall the best dancer of the pack was Ricky !! If you could ask any proffessional dancer or trainer, they would agree with me. I think if you asked a lot of Team Cola fans they would agree that Ricky was the better *dancer*, but would then go on to say that Chris was the better *entertainer*.

I mean, he might not have been as technically polished as Ricky, but Chris' quirky, hilarious Charleston was unquestionably the dance of the series for me.

So we all agree, that it was a dance-competition? A lot of times, this mistake is made!! A likeble guy as Chis is, takes the sympathy! But that doesn't make him the best! Okay, one dance maybe, maybe!! Look at the judges, they all said the same!! So for me, and a lot others, 2 years in a row, the best dancer didn't won!!

Well, this show isn't the X-Factor - it's purely light entertainment, rather than a show to decide who gets a real, live contract. That gives it more leeway, I think.

In any case, the result is set in stone now, so there's no point in worrying about it. And hey, Ali won the Christmas special, so that should be a consolation, right? :)

It's not easy for a taller person to attempt a Lindy Hop, but Ricky did very well, all things considered. On the other hand, this suited Chris better as he was smaller than Ricky ands his personality shone through!!

Man, that was appauling! The guys were going through the motions (badly) and the women were leading them!!! Even the aerial steps were performed by the women almost without the men's help.

Lindy needs passion, soul and a sense of humour but this had none of those
