As for the twelve step program , no program has ever done more damage to society . The ridiculous idea that alchoholics are "spiritualy flawed " is so silly . There are now studies that show alchoholics that enter AA actually get clean and stay clean MUCH less often than alchoholics that clean up without it . 53 % percent of alchoholics eventually get clean . Only 12 % of those in AA ever remain clean for 5 years . Calling it a disease and admitting you are powerless sets you up for failure !
