i disagree. Haruhi's voice matches pretty well. Nagato, Itsuki, and Kyon were pretty good. though Mikuru's... ugh. i cantreally stand voices like that >.<

When the script writers have disposable/throw-away lines in the translation and have lip flaps to fill up, they take liberties and add side jokes, modern colloquialisms, or even a few references here and there. It's tongue-in-cheek and isn't meant to be taken seriously or to dwell over. You're over-thinking it just a tad if you're honestly wasting energy "hating" a line like that.

What needs to happen is a dub version of Glow from the Bleach Beat Collections. It's the Masakazu Morita (Ichigo Kurosaki) and Fumiko Orikasa (Rukia Kuchiki) duet. We already know Johnny Yong Bosch can sing (see: Eyeshine). Now that we know Michelle Ruff can sing as well...
I got to admit. Michelle did a grea job for singing the dub in a softly manner. Now if it were the real deal that be a problem... oh and BTW Bandai doesn't have rights to Paradise Kiss Funi does that got it coming this Sping for anyone interested
For those complaining about the dub, remember the voices can be grating in Japanese also. Also, they are super deformed, so obviously they should sound childish/annoying. Don't even get me started on how Rie Kugimiya's voice as Happy gets on my nerves.
@twilightline Haruhi-chan is on its own DVD. It came out last week. It's only volume one though, meaning you'll have to wait for volume 2 to complete the set. It also comes with half of the Nyoron! series.

@Pivaxi It's called having fun with the script dude(tte). When the script writers have disposable/throw-away lines in the translation and have lip flaps to fill up, they take liberties and add side jokes, modern colloquialisms, or even a few references here and there. It's tongue-in-cheek and isn't meant to be taken seriously or to dwell over. You're over-thinking it just a tad if you're honestly wasting energy "hating" a line like that.

For those complaining about the dub, remember the voices can be grating in Japanese also. Also, they are super deformed, so obviously they should sound childish/annoying. Don't even get me started on how Rie Kugimiya's voice as Happy gets on my nerves.

@twilightline Haruhi-chan is on its own DVD. It came out last week. It's only volume one though, meaning you'll have to wait for volume 2 to complete the set. It also comes with half of the Nyoron! series.
