  • This song suits Eddie very well.

  • Right group with wrong crowd...

  • i do think jim morrison is irreplaceable but that eddie does a stellar job truth be told he sure does wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!! once again thank you gndcd402.

  • What a band THe DOORS

  • Eddie and Jim are/were both awesome singers in their own right, but let's face it, Eddie blew this one out of the water! I've never heard Vedder do a bad cover and usually they sound better than the original artist. This is certainly no exception and live no less. How many artists are just as good live as they are recorded? Not many. Vedder is better live than anyone else on the planet with the possible exception of Springsteen. :)

  • @UseMeAbuseMe4Ever 100% Agree!

  • @UseMeAbuseMe4Ever i agreed dude

  • @UseMeAbuseMe4Ever Vedder live is not as good as Gillan used to be ;-)

  • @lq10101 it's not the founder dude. Ament-Gossard connection.

  • It would be pretty cool to see Eddie Vedder do an album with the doors.

  • OK. Other than the fact that Eddie Vedder is doing a rainman impression in the beginning, he is actually the only person I have heard who can do justice to this song.

  • Eddie's fine, its the damn keyboard that sounds like $h!t.

  • I was watching another live video of Break on through, only then Scott Weiland was singing. But you can see Ray watching the singers, almost like he's either comparing and watching him (with Jim) or just hoping to see a bit of Jim or something.

I don't mean it in a bad way but it kinda fascinates me.

Damn that must've been days back in the 60's

Bless yourself if you had the chance to see them in their prime.

  • Ed had one of the best voices in the industry.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • WHAT AN STUPID COVER...

  • people are ridiculous. eddie played one hell of a set with these guys, fucking killed it, and no one is satisfied. I bet if one of these fucking fanboys woke up with a victorias secret model lying next to him, and a million in cash sitting on his table, they would find problems with it

  • while i respect this guy, it's certainly not jimmy...

  • @ma41094 of corse its not jimmy ,news flash he,s fucking dead moron ,& if you think youve heard better covers than this post them or fuck up..

  • Is he trying to act fucked up. this is stupid. Karoke!

  • @AngeliaClaire youre a fucking idiot

  • @hellbentonmma sticks and stones love! This sucks.

  • Not really a fan of Pearl Jam but damn nice performance and voice.

  • this is just..... EPIC

  • @lq10101...seriously how stupid are you to diss on Eddie Vedder?? @middlaleman is right he is one of the greatest singers to ever live...he was NOT trying to be JIM he was just being Eddie paying tribute to another legend...why did you even go on here?? go somewhere where someone cares what you have to say......

  • Break on through to the other side, yeah!

  • the only bad thing in this performance is the hall of the concert! How could you listen at this concert while you're eating at your table!

  • CHUChaA recucito jim

  • This is really, really good. I wouldn't have thought that anybody could step into Morrison's shoes and pull this off. Not without looking like a pale copy.

But this is great... I'm gaining respect for Eddie Vedder here. Nicely done.

  • Nice job Eddie...this coming from a huge Morrison fan

  • I dont care what anyone says this would be awesome to see again live

  • Eddie Vedder was very good in his own right with this song. He kinda does sound like Morrison, but that's not the point in this case; it was a marvelous tribute and it was good to see Ray, Robby, and John so lively.

Morrison will always own at this song, but great performance.

  • wish i was invited to this party!!

  • both eddie and jim have it. whatever it is.

  • OMG, it's like Pearl Jam jamming with the Doors this is amazing.

    Thanks so much!

  • what the fuck is manzarek playing with?

  • Eddie rules. It's his song by the spirit.

  • this was in 93 and eddie was a kid,

it is fucking awsome!! jim is dead and has been for a dick load long time

  • I don't get the people saying "it should be Jim".

It *should* be Jim... he had an edge and energy that he poured into his music. But Jim is dead (which is good; he'd have been 49 on this night) and Vedder has some of that same edge and energy. He doesn't come close to having the same *mystique* as Jim, and maybe that is what is throwing people... but he's got talent and heart and he didn't pull an asshole move like drinking and drugging himself to an early death when so many people loved him.

  • he is terrible, noone shoud ever try to stand in for Jim. This is pathetic.....

  • @bzcrouse92 If you don't know who is Eddie Vedder, that's pathetic.

  • @4liveandy I agree

  • @bzcrouse92 So what you think, the Doors should just go away ,may be you should go away

  • think i just feel more in love with eddie vedder , Is there anything this man cant do ??

  • everything was sounding really well until 0:30 i think it would sound way better leaving off vocals if it is not jim.

  • nice cover

  • @MrAttPatt Haters will hate.

  • I like the part where he sounded like Eddie Vedder. Not Eddie Vedder trying to sound like Jim Morrison.

  • Muito legal!

  • 8 people failed to "break on through."

  • Love the cover of Jim but miss Ray's orig bass piano. Excellent cover!

  • thumbs up if u would like a world tour of the doors with eddie vedder..!! it would be so awesome....

  • I think this is a great version. The only better person to fill in for Jim would be Billy Idol. But, Eddie is a certain close second.

  • In my view, this song is the best work of the Doors. Here, Eddie looks a bit like Jim and has better vocal on this song than Ian Astbury, but his delivery is not as true to Morrison's rendition as that of Scott Weiland. Kinda sucks when your friend, the band's vocalist, cares so little about anything that he finally succeeds in breaking on thru.

  • I think ray should use the old equipment .... that fucking piano makes sound all the songs like .... wedding songs, but I have to accept it eddie vedder rocks !

  • is this real life?

  • I'd rather that Ray would've done Jim's part without Eddie. Can't hold a candle!

  • NICE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah!!!its like every little rock band they try to make the cover there doing sounds exacly the way the real band plays it i dont know why they say shit about vedder he just did what he does best but he will not replace jim each one of them had there on style..love this song

  • WTF???? I thing THIS EPIC and the audience is just fucking sittin at their table moving their head , WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE THEY'RE THE FUCKING DOORS (and Eddie Vedder, wich makes it even more awesome)

  • 0 M G... Eddie rules, Jim... WAKE UP !!!!

  • I love The Doors, and nobody can replace Jim, but Eddie give a nice try ... I think...

  • @szilvi4 Of course no one can replace Jim. but when i hear eddie jim comes to my mind =)

  • @lq10101 is an idiot. That "turkey" is Eddie Vedder, one of the great singers of all time. Founder and lead singer of a little band called Pearl Jam. He was sitting in with them for a tribute performance. Way to show ur ass.

  • @middaleman He wasn't the founder of Pearl Jam. I'm jus' sayin'

  • @middaleman i wouldn't call him founder those two guys from mother love bone started it up and gave auditions for a lead singer, im pretty sure

  • @middaleman is on the right..........

  • @middaleman actually eddie didnt found Pearl Jam at all. He one of the last components of the band. Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, and Mike McCready were making demos before Vedder was ever in it. But not hating on Eddie at all i just wanted to tell you you were wrong.

  • @lukemaggioli Maybe he was added last, but there never was a Pearl Jam without Vedder so yes he is a founding member.

  • @lq10101 LOSER

  • @lq10101 Bullshit. Vedder has his own style, he's the singer of Pearl Jam, genius. So of course he's not *trying to sound like Morrison, he's great doing his own thing, why would he?

  • @lq10101 ur a dickhead,obviously a cliff richard fan..boil ur head in a bucket of ur own sick,twat..

  • @lq10101 your a douche. you are a gigantic wet bloody douche that serves no more purpose in cleaning even the dirtiest of vaginas, The Doors are the shit, And Eddie Vedder is the shit!

  • @lq10101 I do not have the breath to waste on you. You are a musical void.

  • @lq10101 haha you registered to youtube for this only comment lol :)

  • Is stupid to compare this ficking "singers", no no stupid singers with the great and mistyc band of the all times mmmmmm

  • Eddie does justice for this song! Awesome.

  • Nice one. Awsome job. And at the end Ray and Eddie shares a bottle of water.

  • remember Eddie, the right way to sing this song is "she gets HIGH!"

  • Comment removed

  • Scott Weiland is way better doing the Morrison role than Vedder.

  • @Unglued812 they are both fucking awesome at it

  • @Unglued812 WHAT?!

  • @Unglued812 hahaha, good one! next joke, please

  • Eddie flubs a line and Rays keyboard sounds like shit. But, I really liked 3:35.

  • omg. i think i just broke the reply button. F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C!!!

  • @miguelocz Yeah, what an honor it must have been for The Doors to play with the great Eddie Vedder! Wow! ;)

  • Absolutely awesone¡¡¡

besides I was scared of the fact that they could be playing for an audience of death people.

No one moves until the end.

how come all this people could remain so unmoved while this masterpiece is taking place?

  • @mmpp336 PORQUE EL CONCIERTO NO ES EN ARGENTINA ACA SI Q SABEMOS ROCKEAR!!!!!

  • If you are going to sing something so popular with people so good...learn the fucking words. It shouldnt need saying, but apparently it does

  • While Eddie is singing he seems so happy & excited at the same time, it's more than obvious that he is fullfilling a kind of childhood dream at that concert. Replacing Jim, OMG, I'm sure he was also feeling a bit awkward, what a burden to carry. Well, he did it succesfully.

  • dooplerX

I couldn't agree more with you.

    AMEN¡¡

  • I love how manzarek shouts out "high"

  • i thought ian astbury was up for filling the part, didnt sound to bad,but neither does this.check out ians attempts if you havnt seen, just for fun

  • top effort by ted danson on the drums

  • epic

  • even though he fucks up some lyrics it's still the best thing they could have done afther jim

  • way to go Eddie...i've never been able to listen to anyone sing Jim's vocal in any song but i'm loving the respect he has in here, letting the band have their moment, not trying to steal the limelight..his soulful voice is amazing, "not" Jim but still c'mon..and those eyes & smile!! like i said "not" Jim but.....

  • Eddie can hit those notes like a pro! :) And this is when he was young too, so that shows a lot :D Love The Doors and Pearl Jam!

  • The two greatest American Rock bands.....the Doors and Pearl Jam

  • You really see the smile on Eddies face. That he's honored to play with these magical members of The Doors

  • Ehh...so so!

  • @dooplerX Nirvana is fucking shitty.

  • @ViennaMoose Nope.

  • @dooplerX Perfect choices of bands :)

  • @dooplerX Please shut up. Those stats aren't even real.

  • @nate61177 This is when people (like you) speaks and don't know anything about good music and good music with feelings. So sorry for you.

  • @nate61177 of course man, of course.

  • Scott Weiland's version seems to me better, this is too soft vocally. Although I like PJ and Eddie's work, I don't find this cover that good.

  • Wish they'd record a record together o___o

  • This would most definitely be on a list of things to do before i die: Perform with The Doors

  • Wow! Phenomenal! Just a really great performance overall!

  • My favourite singer performing one of my favourites songs. This is fucking hilarious!

  • 2:41 looks like Eddie is floating

  • wHERE they conscient they were making history again that nite again??

  • why was this in front of people in suits, sitting at tables?? thats not very rock n roll

  • eddie did a awesome job but if there is one man in history worth worshiping its Jim morrison

  • Eddie Vedder is a great singer but it's so sad no to see Jim Morrison there with The Doors..There will be no one like him again. Never.

  • Scott weiland version makes this look ordinary

  • @rovamech His version sucks. It sounds like he totally tries to mimic Jim; Eddie on the other hand, makes it his own. He's just natural. He brings his own touch, respects, and emotion to the song. Vedder is actually an artist as opposed to that industry tit sucking, drug induced, tight jean wearing freak.

  • Comment removed

  • @AlexCountsJams You've clearly never listened to an STP album in your life. Scott brings that same emotion that he brought to his version to every STP song. Vedder's good, don't get me wrong, but I feel like his vocals just aren't the same type of passion of Jim's.

And don't knock Weiland for living the rock and roll life style. Jim himself fucking overdosed.

  • mabey you should think before you post you just decried Jim and Scott

  • Comment removed

  • Show de bola!

  • The 'She gets' part made me laugh

    Great performance

  • Fuck people!!!!!!! Vedder is Vedder! and morrison was morrison! just fucking dig there uniqueness and stop the fuss! Legends of rock people both awesome! enjoy enjoy! AHhhhhhh!!!!! nice!!!!

  • @MrDukenator You are my new hero. Thank you!!

  • @KellieCrosby Its nice to know your here my friend! Thankyou for being you! Peace!!!

  • i love ray manzerics little casio sounding thing...

  • did anyone see howard stern playing the bass?

  • It's great but NOT magic. With Jim, it was MAGIC.

  • @MaxYtsejam if you think that Eddie is not magic, go to one of Pearl Jam shows. then you'll see real magic between band and fans.

  • @mmmartynaOO

Eddie is magic, of course. But you can't compare Jim and Eddie, sorry.

    Jim tutta la vita!

  • Lounge music.

  • GREATTTTTT!!!! they made eddy wear long pants and fold his t shirt to look more formal hahah

  • Comment removed

  • Ray can really smack that keyboard with a bassist freeing up his left hand ...

  • Bring in Anselmo!!!

  • She gets.. HIGH, Eddie. Why erase that word? Because of the fancy public you have. Damn, it's like an in between dinner, The Doors. Hello! THEY SHOULD BE THE WHOLE NIGHT.

  • @superwoutos Oh, I wondered the same ... Jim Morrison when Ed Sullivan told him to remove it insisted on the shid, like 'HAIIIIIIIIGHEEEEEEEEEEER' (Ligh my fire)

  • @roxor1080 Haha, indeed! Those were the days. (Not that I have lived then..)

  • Eddie Vedder & the Doors...great match!

  • Mojo risin. Look them up! They're from vegas, I saw them at the fremont a summer or two ago and they are by far the BEST cover band I have EVER heard. I heard their music from afar and I thought the fremont was just playing the doors on the speakers haha. Eddie vedder did a great job though ^_^

  • the only guy i ever saw sit in with the Doors that i could listen to.... that shit with the dude from Creed gives me diarrhea.. sickening....

  • that motherfucker through in the "dead cats dead rats" god bless eddie vedder <3

  • Sweet maria has Ed's fashion improved over the years. Not quite sure what he's thinking with that outfit...

  • Comment removed

  • These videos with the Doors and Eddie are so full of virtuosity. They establish the Doors as a great blues band with or without Morrison. Eddie does this material proud. Thanks so much for posting.

  • best version of the break on through is the Isle of Wight track

  • The Doors and Eddie Vedder honoring Jim Morrison- Doesn't get any better than that!

  • How can the rest of the Doors allow him to sing this song his way, direspectful to Morrison

  • John Densmore (drummer) said he would never play the doors music with Ray and Robby unless Eddie Vedder was singing, check out the Manzerek-Kreiger page of wikipedia

  • Awesome! And at 3:02 Manzarek becomes Duncan Bannatyne :O

  • Eddie Vedder is amazing. I've always loved their drummer, he has so much technical jazz skill that i would love to have a drummer myself.

  • THE DOORS NEED A LEAD SINGER WITH STAMINA LIKE THISE GUY! BUT I PREFER JOE RUSSO FROM THE SOFT PARADE TRIBUTE BAND.

  • D21C needs to put him in the front better than who they have now.

  • somebody doesn't want to break on through to the other side.

  • Fuck...his voice sends chills down my spine

  • yeah, this is my song favorite to the doors
