  • I Love Lei Ying and the 12 Girl Band.

I have a Play list with over 30 of their songs in it.

They inspired me to get a Erhu, Pipa, and some Bamboo Flutes.

I would Love to have one of these instruments too.

    Thanks for posting.

  • interesting instrument!

  • Woah! Traditional whammy bar!

  • no sound

  • MONOCHORD IS VIETNAMESE INSTRUMENT, IS NOT CHINESE.

  • Dan Bau or Duxianqin are the same thing. Jing people moved to China about 300-400 years ago from north Vietnam. Nowadays there are still around 25,000 of them.

  • @HaLong8006 oh! this intrument is not of VietNamese, sure!

  • Zhuang is original "AU",Yue is original "LAC".AU LAC is acient kingdom of Vietnamese.

  • I can only say: Far East unite! And eat the decadent west for breakfast. :) (I'm from Europe) :)))

  • my heart belongs to lei ying, her english name is stephanie :))

  • soundofnature01..are you pretending? you dont find that questionable that there is such an ethic that you claimed has similar dress, similar traditional monocord.and thats just by accidence that they are not the same people? you got to be kidding.Thats vietnamese from the past right there..even close ethics like cantonese and other south chinese you dont find that such resemblance in such high degree. Monocord strictly vietnamese.

  • Vietnamese instrument. No doubt.

  • unfortunately the same 12 or 13 girls will never be together again....i hope i will eat my words, but they've broken up. there's only 2 original girls will stay with 12gb name. 7 girls will join 3 others (from 6 roses group)+ 2 others for 12 total, the new name is voices of 12. and the 3 best players from 12gb will now be called gracefull triangle. look up the uploader 12tongtech he has lots of inside info and also lots of pics, and backstage videos of the 12gb

  • From an American that knows nothing. I understand that the peoples in a region may influence one another and there may be some difference of opinion as to garb and nomenclature but the truth of the matter is that to a person new to the environment the young lady is beautiful and plays extraordinarily well. The comments might best serve by admiration of the total presentation. Lovely, please give the world more.

  • This instrument is Vietnamese. Why is she wearing a Zhuang head dress then? This is like wearing Hanfu with a Manchu hat.

  • This instrument is not Vietnamese, though Vietnamese have a similar one.

This is Duxianqin from Jing ethnic group in China. What she's wearing is also traditional Jing costume.

  • Duxianqin = Độc Huyền Cầm = Monochord Instrument = The unique instrument that only Viet/Kinh ethnic has. The Duxianqin from the Jing (Kinh) ethnic in China is "the same" as the monochord instrument of the Vietnamese (not just similar, they are the same kind). And the Jing ethnic in China has it because they are the same ethnic as the Vietnamese.

  • The dress she's wearing is the modified version of Vietnamese traditional dress called "áo tứ thân". Hence the dress and the instrument are Vietnamese, but the head dress is not. The traditional head dress of the Vietnamese and the Jing ethnic in China is a circular one.

  • The instrument is Vietnamese. It belongs to Kinh (Jing) ethnic group of China, which is the same ethnic group as the Vietnamese. The Jing minority in China fled to China in the 17th century bringing with them the đàn bầu of Việt Nam.

  • The "Jing" are the Vietnamese who live in China. Just like the chinese who live in Vietnam are called "Hoa"

  • @soundofnature01 the clothes are, but not the head >.>

  • @soundofnature01

But the Jing ethnic of China are Vietnamese. There are so many proves even videos about them. They even speak Vietnamese. Here are the proves made by Chinese:

  • @princeofwinter

    Origins of the Vietnamese people

Relatively little is known about the origins of the Vietnamese. They first appeared in history as the so-called "Lac" peoples, who lived in the Red River delta region, in what is now northern Vietnam. Some scholars have suggested that the Lac were closely related to other peoples, known as the Viet (called the Yüeh by the Chinese), ...

  • @soundofnature01

Jing = Kinh in Vietnamese. Kinh is the dominant ethnic group of Vietnam and that is the official designation in order to distinguish this group from other ethnic groups in Vietnam. However, in informal conversation, the Kinh refers to ourselves as Viet (Vietnamese).

  • this instrument is vietnamese dan bau

  • Both the Chinese Jing Ethnic group and the Vietnamese have the same instrument, just different names in different countries.

  • @soundofnature01 jing is vietnamese dude lol, jing is a chinese word for kinh people, and kinh people is vietnamese lmao

  • cool, thx for sharing. is this before she joined 12 gb? she must be very young then...

  • it is called duxianqin

  • Yes in Putonghua it is called "duxianqin"獨弦琴.

  • Thanks Alladinmoua for sharing the video with me.
