@gsxrful A belt or pulley can come off any engine. I can tell you, the RB doesn't have common pulley/belt problems. Either the bolts were reused a million times, overtorqued, too loose, or the belt simply had it's day. The engine package itself is completely reliable.

@gsxrful Agreed. I have RB26. Internally very strong (except maybe oiling system). It's the cheaper things like this that concern me. Eg: You can get eBay cam gears for $80, or Jap brand for $400. I spent the $400 cause if a $80 cam gear loosens up, you can severely damage the engine, worth many thousands. Same with belts etc. Can't even skimp on the items you think won't matter if they break.
