do i need to have both of such 6 pin connectors? because i only got one and don´t know if it will break when i start the pc :( need help. i got radeon hd 5830 in this green style with the men on it ^^
@theANALpherbet Yeah you need both for newer grafix cards. Have you checked all cables coming out of your power supply? How many watt does your power supply has?
Also is it a modular power supply? If this is the case you can always add extra power cables. (6 pin connectors)
@Caelistas yeah i checked them all and there where only white 3 pin connectors and actually i don´t know how many watt it has and i don´t know if it is a modular power supply
Hey guys i'm really frustrated right now because i just bought an XFX radeon HD 5830 and my power supply only has one PCIE power adapter, but i need two! But the card came with 2 molex cables that let me convert two 4-pin connectors to one 6-pin connector, but the stupid thing is the instruction manual says DON'T use two 4-pin to one six pin adapters for the GPU!!! and to top it all off the molex connectors are missing some pieces!! what do i do!!
everytime someone asks about videocard installation or is afraid of installing a gpu themselves over at gamespot.. i recommend them this exact video and never another.. linus saves the day :P
@dexterediting 5770 in crossfireX is about the same as a 5870, Though you will still have the 128bit Memory Bus unlike like the 5800 series which all have 256bit memory bus.
My Case Has Slot at the front so the back of the card can slid in and helps with support but only if the card is long enough to reach the slot at the back and if it cant then i guess it doesn't need to but is about 13 inches from the back plate so i think only a HD 5970 would reach
@cbdirtbiker5 Not always true. My friends is buying it cause i recommended him to (i adviced the Vapor-X version) but he's having his pc assembled from another friend.
I'm having some problems with an HD 5830. The video card powers up but I have installed the drivers and unistalled the drivers multiple times with no representation of it in dxdiag. Is that because I only have 1 6-pin connector or am I doing something wrong???
@Deathuntneki4 I used a bright red screwdriver when I built my new case, so far its gotten fantastic feedback from those that have seen it in person....perhaps it would have gone from "thats cool" to "thats freakin epic!!!" if only I used the orange driver......
@LFCforEver12341 yeah i was about to buy the 5830 but instead got a gtx 460! lol but hey the 5830 is now only $180 but i still choose the gtx 460... i STILL dont understand why everyone hated the 5830 though lol

i have a HiS 5850 and it doesnt have that massive heat sink/heatpipe configuration, so im guessing its a Powercolor card issue with the extra weight of the copper heatpipes hanging off the side that was causing the snapping of the pci-e slot.
hi..a got a dell PC with Dell 02Y832 mobo and a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 with AGP8x... i want to upgrade the video card so i purchased a Radeon HD4350 AGP.. but after uninstalling the previous card driver , removing the card and mounting the new card (HD4350) , the screen is empty (all black)..the cpu is on, the card is seated properly but i just dont know how to solve it...also, will a PCI video card fit on any PCI slot on this mobo?? pls help me..PM or reply..thank you
what are the extra little cables on the psu 6 pin pci-e power cables? There are little cables that are there that you don't plug in the card, they just sit aside. What are those used for?
Are you serious? I'd rather have them ship the video card seperate so that I can get the original BOX in case I'd like to upgrade (So that I can sell it to someone).
first off u need 2 know if u have a PCI-e x16 slot or PCi-e 2.0(they look like the slot he was putting that graphics card in)(PCI-e x16 slots dont have that little clip on the right site). Next u need 2 know what power supply is required 2 run the graphics card (i suggest having at least 50-100 watts more) and 2 c if the power supply has the right connectors. if not go buy a new power supply and/or molecs to PCI power adapter. And make sure that graphics card is not 2 long 4 ur case either.
I wonder if nVidia and ATI will update their reference mounting to have stronger integrated bracketing on the rear to help offload the stress from the extra weight from large pcb/coolers/etc.
I think the cost you pay to have your pc assembled should be reduced. Not saying that installing a card is particularly difficult but if you buy installation service and you have to do part of the installation yourself, it would make sense to either charge less for installation or put a low cost plastic support bracket to keep it in place during shipping.
@plotikai They charge $50 to build the system, not really a whole lot, so I think having a damage free system is worth $50 and putting the card in yourself.
Lol, good video for those who don't know how to install a video card. To bad ATI couldn't resolve this problem or have seen it ahead of time because that card really is massive!

WOW is a big video Card and a good PC... Can you please make a video who you play GTA IV on the PC.... And who can i see how high can you make the setings.... I know this is going to maximum setings.......
I built my own computer myself, but to say if you don't know how to do this you shouldn't be a pc gamer is pretty snobby. What if I wanted to own a really nice expensive fast car, should I then be required to know how to put all the different parts together? Bit of a stretch comparison I admit, but I would hope you would get my point.
if your getting a powerful computer whith that many high powered components you must be kind of into computers but not having the balls to install a Graphichs card wtf... its like playing with legos you shouldnt have a computer that has a high powered GPU in it if your not willing to install it, thats just lame half the fun in having a good PC is ungrading making it.
If you buy a computer with a gaming Grafx card like the 5850, 5870 or 5970 (nVidia GTX's) You should already know how to install it, otherwise you have no business buying a gaming PC.

I wonder if they''ll start adding better support for GPU's. There getting too big and heavy for two screws at one end...

if your getting a powerful computer whith that many high powered components you must be kind of into computers but not having the balls to install a Graphichs card wtf... its like playing with legos you shouldnt have a computer that has a high powered GPU in it if your not willing to install it, thats just lame half the fun in having a good PC is ungrading making it.

If you buy a computer with a gaming Grafx card like the 5850, 5870 or 5970 (nVidia GTX's) You should already know how to install it, otherwise you have no business buying a gaming PC.

youtube does a "quick" render of videos (low quality), the 720p render should be done soon.
