we're doing retro modeling this weekend 29 of January 2012. And i'm so bless i found your video! that looks stunning! Grnat Job! im just wondring where could i get that hair rat? since i haven't seen it. so good luck to me. thank you. more power!
the fact that we have similar hair styles and seemingly similar hair textures makes this incredibly easy for me to watch and take in. What a great result, i cannot wait to try it this way for myself!
I tried so hard to find a rat in NZ before my vintage chic wedding reception but no luck. I'm still keen to wear this style as it looks so chic and you make it look so easy :) thanks :)
superb...you look gorgeous...but i can def see how cutting true bettie bangs / fringe limits your style to strictly Bettie looking. So much better to be able to play with your hair and create this look when you want to! Thanks for posting this!!!
This video really informed me well! For the "hair rat", I ended up finding some faux hair that they market for theater hair (actually wool) which I just held together with some of those tiny clear rubber bands. It works very well for me! :)
Fleur, I just wanted to thank you ever so much for this tutorial. I decided not to commit to cutting a fringe but still really loved the vintage fringe look. This is simply a brilliant alternative. I went and bought a hair sausage this morning and the results are wonderful. Thank you so much from Australia.
hi! i love your blog an this tutorial but i have a question. after doing your bang, what do you do with your back hair? i cant see it and im interesting in knowing how to do it!!
What a helpful video and a lovely website! I can't wait until you post more videos of your flawless, glamorous hair styles. I was wondering, for victory rolls do you use rats on the sides as well? I'm looking to do long victory rolls and all the other videos online are quite small and use just the hair above the ears. Thanks for your help Fleur!

Wow Fleur - this is total genius! I have one of those crazy bun forms but could never figure out how to use it. I'm cutting it apart tonight! Thank you so much for this marvelous video. I'm all inspired now. :D
o my gosh thanks for making this video i tried doing bangs like thing but only with bobby pins and it just wouldnt do but now i no exacly what to do thanks :)
Hi Fleur, correct me if I'm wrong but did you used to compere at Volupte in denmark street? I think it was about 2 years ago, and you had more of a bob then?
Amazing video! Thanks so much! Was the bun ring you bought to make the 'rat' made of of hair?! Or just that spongy type material? (I'd never even heard of a hair rat until this evening!)
I have the same question regarding length. I found some great rats online and they are sold in various sizes; but I have absolutely no idea which one to choose.
You addressed those parts that stick out on the sides! I'm so happy, I could cry. Others normally don't do that, but that was my biggest problem so thank you! I can now wear this with confidence.
I linked this vid in today's tutorial (again). I also stole one of your gorgeous photos because I love you so much! And evidently I steal, when affection comes into play. *shaking head* Seriously, I hope you don't mind and will be happy to edit out said photo, should you so desire. xxoo :)

very clever i used to do a forward roll bang but flatten the edge out and make it lower like u do(which was VERY tedious) but this was very clever i think u should cut ur bangs like that u look really good with a betty style bang :)
Ah, thank you! But I've had bettie bangs in the past and they do seem to suit, but when you have them, you're stuck with them! This is why I devised my faux bangs - best of both worlds!

Well done, I love it! Can't wait to learn new techniques from you! I already have a "Betty" bang/fringe, so this one I can't use, but still fun to watch.
