I'm downloading PR right now umm I have AIX to do you think PR flying is more realistic than AIX cause AIX is pretty nice. Based off what I have seen they are tied. I guess ill try it out.
@Airsoft101person Not sure if realism is the best term, but in PR, fly certainly has a realistic feel - a good bridge between realism and arcade. I think it's the combined arms part that is best - On Kashan, an A-10 pilot is most effective with a dedicated AA team and good intel for airstrikes. Communication and teamwork are everything!
@HeartlessGorre For around 20 bucks you can get a flight stick with a throttle lever. I used to fly with mouse and keyboard, heli's and jets - trust me, it is way worth it to have a flight stick with a throttle so you can more easily concentrate on precision maneuvers and tactics. For GAU Gun Runs, use throttle to come in slow, both hands on stick for aiming; or hovering your AH-64 just below the ridgeline east of the bunkers, popping up for a shot, and then back down to a hover - priceless!
@HeartlessGorre I use a flight stick with a throttle control; I have the Saitek Cyborg X. Much better control with a 25-50$ flight stick, well worth it.
Excellent tip, Raven! This can so easily be adapted to keyboard/mouse controls. In addition, for adaptation to an F-16 or MIG, you can apply aerodynamic braking by adding a Flare (pull nose up slightly) procedure as you cross over the start of the runway. This will help spill off additional speed as these jets lack Speedbrakes (airbrakes) in Project Reality.
To anyone else who might look to this tutorial for help, just a quick tip from your PR buddy "Raven Vasquall", This tutorial may explain flight control with a flight stick or joystick, but it's no different from a keyboard and mouse. when using a kayboard and mouse, after all 3 wheels hit the ground, applying brakes works the same way, though instead of pulling back on a "stick" you'll pull back on your mouse. Also, it helps to use your after burners when taking off to give you that extra lift.
