  • I wonder if Michael Kamen ever saw this...

  • Whatever could be next? I look forward to receiving a score copy so I can see how it's done! Thank you ALL very much for playing my music so well, and loving it as you did!!

    All my love and respect,

    Michael Kamen

  • I am sure that very few composers have received such wonderful gifts. Special compliments to the genius who arranged, edited and orchestrated this very difficult orchestral work for

marching band!!!! Kudos to the conductors and choreographers, I really have no idea how you made it work but you sure did!!!! Please send me a full list of people I can thank for a great accomplishment.

  • ... and your Horn and Brass sections at all times made me well aware of your virtuosic skills as musicians and your fantastic level of commitment with each of you achieving a performance that deserved every bit of the awards that you have earned. I am flattered to have been treated so well and to have heard from many of you over the past months about how much fun and gratification you received from working on the piece.

  • The performers, from the Baritone solo at the top of the piece to the brilliant solo flute and percussion section with fabulous work by your oboist..

  • My Dear Friends at Lawrence Central High,

I was completely overcome with delight, pride and amazement at your incredible performance of New Moon in the Old Moon's Arms. The arrangement for marching band was beyond my wildest dreams; the movement of the band while playing all the while was beautiful and dramatic.

  • SUTA!

  • Hey hey, Kevers in the house here. Wow I didn't know we were celebs. Great show but we, as in drumline, had to carry sooooo much shit (6 piece steel tenors, 3 piece tenor "Min "Tins", Indian Drum and three sets of mallets). Damn my back was about to break but it was a blast.

Miss my crew. Graham, the doo doo Browns, j-reck, Teeth, Bushy, Adrienne, Detterline, Knuckles, Kris,

FYI i'm the center tenor section leader in this movie.

the cam view for drumline, n e one hav it

  • Ya know, I don't know anything about this school, and I accidentally found this because I was looking for a recording of the piece, but man... What a great show! Watching this makes me sad and slightly jealous that the band I'm a part of can't compete in such a big competition. Or be able to compete with the top bands of... well the nation. :'(

  • best show ever!

  • Does anyone have a recording of this? Please contact me!!!

  • @crxhfspeed56 i do:)

  • Glad I decided to join that year, miss the good ol days

  • rip michael kamen, superb composition :)

  • I still love seeing the dude with the bass and the big fro in the pit. 9:45

This is one of my favorite GN years. I used to have the finals VHS set, but I think I watched it so much that they don't work anymore. :(

  • there's ALWAYS that one clarinet player with shotgun shoulder in every band- 1:48

Those attacks by the baritone soloist were the best I've ever heard. Barely any trace of tounge but not soft-fluffy air. Just right. Damn I hope that guy's doin' corps... or at least orchestra. Continue in music my friend- you've got some talent.

    YEAH BASS trombone at 6:04!!

  • Man i miss those days....I loved my Snare drum in that show....Go LC...

  • Absolutely LOVED that show!!!!! Still to this day, in my opinion, it was the best show in LC's history.

    LC ROCKS!!!!!

  • damn, that euph solo gives me goosebumps, im excited to see PR doing this music in 2010 :)

  • Me too. I was just on PR's site and came here to get familiar with the music. Can't wait!

  • WHOAP, WHOAP, GO TOMMY ALLEN!!!

  • Megan Kuhnhenn still makes my knees weak. She was fierce.

  • shut up daryll

  • they won the caption for who got second place in more captions

  • Winning with no captions = Best show ever?

  • Jealous? Yep.

  • maybe, 2004 was the shit too

  • 2004 was damn near flawless from day one. that show was just destined for greatness.

  • @endurance117 The bands that won captions that year had lower scores in the captions they didn't win than LC, so the most consistent across the board was LC, which made the deserving of the title. I don't think it's ever happened in BOA before, but hey, being 2nd across the board served them better than other schools placing 1st in some and 3rd in others. Those are the breaks, but totally fair.
