"The Israelis maintain this was simply a case of mistaken identity, but this clearly does not hold water," said Moorer, who was chief of naval operations at the time of the attack. "In clear visibility, this unique ship was very easy to identify.
"The Israeli forces circled the ship and then proceeded to attack over an extended period of time. There is Simply no way the fighter pilots and torpedo boat crews could have come to such a conclusion," he said.
Admiral Thomas Moorer was Commander-in-Chief US Atlantic Fleet in June, 1967, when Liberty was attacked. He then served as Chief of Naval Operations from 1967 to 1970 and as Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1970 to 1977. In 2003 he formed the Independent Commission of Inquiry with Rear Admiral Merlin Staring, former judge advocate general of the Navy; Ambassador James Akins, former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia; and General Ray Davis, former assistant commandant of the Marine Corps.

Anyone realizes that the premise of this video is completely false? The Enterprise is nowhere near the Persian gulf, it's in the north Atlantic. The only US carrier currently near the strait of Hormuz is the USS Abraham Lincoln, which was launched in 1989 and is nowhere near decommission.
