  • I love young's double. I prefer young's over harpoon. It just didn't do it for me...

  • @arsenal6106 yeah i like youngs much better myself...

  • who hoo 100 views

  • I just picked up the Harpoon Wintry Mix today (I live in MA). My favorite beer of all time is the Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I thought this Harpoon beer had a more of a burnt chocolate taste, and that the malt was more of the beer's taste than chocolate. Too harsh burnt-malty than chocolate. Question: How would you recommend serving the beer temperature-wise. I wanna try the beer again to see my final thoughts. THX!

  • i agree this is more burnt and cofee like, than youngs and not as velvety, but i still thought it was fantastic and rich. ultimitly i still like youngs better (in the bottle), but i really enjoyed this a lot. i think i served mine around 42-48 degrees. or a little on the warm side. i hope yo have better luck next time.

  • I saw this today when I went beer shopping. I should have picked it up. I'm not real big on chocolate, but I don't dislike it either, and the chocolate beers I have had I wasn't impressed... but this looks like it could be the exception.

  • if your not big on chocolate beers, its hard to say if you would like it. but i would say if your going to like a chocoalte this is the chocolate to get. if you don't like this, then give up on chocolate beers.

  • mmmmm sounds like a winner

  • winner winner chicken dinner.

  • I'm intrigued by how chocolate-y this beer sounds, I'll have to see if they have it at my beer store for sure.

  • i hope you find it. i was shocked how chocolaty this is. i like it so much i got 2 more six packs.

  • I need to try this! I love pretty much all Stouts and Chocolate Stouts are even better. Your description of the taste was great. Great review!

  • thanks i/m glad you liked it. i thought i was pretty descriptive.

  • Harpoon's website says it's 5.3% ABV. Probably a typo on rate beer.

  • that makes more sence.

  • Harpoons site says 5.9%abv

  • yeah chad said the same thing. i'm sure rate beer is wrong.

  • Very good review! Very good vivid description, I like how you compary it to the air in Hershey, hehe! I'm sure I would love this beer. I've only had one Harpoon beer and it was very good, although I've heard most of their beers are only decent.

That's a funny Guinness glass, I guess it was made in/specially for the US. Usually when I think Guinness, I imagine it in a tulip pint glass.

  • yeah this one was great. but most of there stuff is not this good.

i got a bunch of cool guiness glasses.

  • Wow! A GOOD Harpoon beer? You're right, I've also had a lot of their beers and wasn't impressed at all.

If this is a winter seasonal I might have to run out and grab one. Unless someone recommends it for me to review during all-viewer-request-month in January ;)

    Great video man.

  • yeah get this. i thought it was better than rogue chocolate stout. i got a 12 pack f it, cause i liked it so much. and its only like 8 bucks a pack.

  • @jjrudy41 $8 for a 12 pack!?

  • sorry 8 bucks a 6 pack

  • $8 for a 12 pack. What, is harpoon made by Coors?

I gotta find this one. I've been craving stouts since December 1!

  • 8 bucks a 6 pack

  • even for a 6 pack is a good deal (especially if it's as good as you say)

  • thats what i'm saying great price for a great beer.
