That's definitely not an 86 hatch it has to be an 85 hatch. I have an 86 Iroc Z with D88 package made the very first month of the 86 model year and it is on the outside of the hatch. It was on the inside in 85 and moved to the outside in 86 then from 87 to 90 it was in the spoiler. Nice car though I love the color, but it is hard to tell if it is realy an Iroc, there are so many fakes out there. Does it have the Orangeish red Z28 Iroc Z bade on the dash or just the regular Z28?

Umm that is not an 86 unless you removed the third brake light off the hatch window which is on the 86 and is the only year to feature that light.

@Kodiak8788 The light was on the outside in 86 smart guy. So I am not sure HOW MUCH you really know your third gens. It was the only year to have a third brake light on the oustide of the hatch, not inside!

@ThePatriotsfan01 a hatch from another year would still fit, the motors do, mine was an 86 with an L98, combo wasnt available, but mine had it, and my vin read as an 86 no 3rd brake doesnt mean its not an 86

@ThePatriotsfan01 The side skirts are not from 196 for sure, but the front bumper is, and the hatch third brake light came on other years as well. I know because I've owned four third gen f-bodies. So leave him to his camaro and stop picking it apart. That TPI sounds tight and looked clean..IMO the yellow motor is UGLY but its his and I respect that. Dont go pointing fingers about this car when you dont know jack about them.

@ryanjh2005 Dude I own a 1986 iroc and a 1988 iroc ( I have pics to prove it ) and the 1986 model was the only year that had the third brake light on the outside of the window after which it was mounted inside the spoiler. Don't believe me or think I am an idiot then go on over to here wikipedia Chevrolet Camaro (third_generation) It says it on the 86 year hell call Chevy go to a library I don't care but either that is a hatch from a different year or he does not know what year it is.

@ThePatriotsfan01 The G92s from the ealy 90s had third brakes lights in the hatch too bro. As well as some third gens had them in the spoiler. def dont check wiki for info, they leave out somethings. I hate when guys put different pieces on the third gen..confuses others what year it is. They changes alot of small stuff like they did in the 70s. Not calling you and idiot bro, just hate when you here those guys talk as if they know all about them. But you seem to accualy do your research

@ParasiteFromTheHills Sorry for the delay, i paint for a living and i got less than $800 in it for a little filler and all the paint materials. The paint code is a GM code called Atomic Orange and the code is 418P and i used PPG's DBC line of paint which costed a whopping $430 per GALLON! not cheap paint lol

@vword92 I have both sides coming from the headers to 1 Flo-Pro Twister muffler then back out as 2 out of the side. Lots of custom bends to get that to fit b/c as you probably kno there is NO ROOM under there. Find you a GOOD exhaust man and he can do this for you! Took about 3 hours for my friend to do mine.

@YellowCamaro85 It's a 94' 350 small block with the 89' TPI setup and computer. motor has notch top pistons with roller cam and lifters and flat tappet valves. the overrall lift on the cam is 510 and the exhaust is Shorty headers out and down to 1 muffler (Flo-Pro Twister) then back out as 2.

I noticed the motor is a centerbolt 350 which they didn't put in IROCs until 1987. Did you change heads ? Love the color.. been contemplating the same color. I don't know if GM still calls it Atomic Orange though. I think is is now called sunburst on the later Vettes.  Nice ROC though. Mines an 85, 7th Camaro I have owned in my life

@GetsumJ Yes Sir you know your Camaros! thats a good eye, The block is from a 94' truck and the top end is from a 89' TPI. The car is a hybrid of a little bit of everything, it was in ROUGH shape when i bought it and i was going to restore it BUT i think i'm just going keep it as my knock around ride b/c i really want another 88' or 89' true 350 TPI 5 Speed....all original and restore it as all original. This one is my 3rd third this body style but all have been automatic...

Are you sure it's an 86? The hatches in 86 had the exterior brake lights. And those ground effects are early 90's

Looks like sunset orange metallic to me. Which is a 4th gen color originally. But there are many other GM cars that had that color available.

@X2N18 Any car thats been started on a damp day before its gotten warm will have that. Same reason cars smoke white in the winter. Ice crystals form in the exhaust pipe and as the engine heats up it evaporates them. Once the steam leaves the exhaust pipe it condenses quickly again because of the massive temperature difference, aka giant white puffs of smoke.

If he let it idle for a few more minutes, or drive it around the block a few times when he parked it the condensation would be gone.

nice IROC-Z and the whole exterior is clean but you need to do somethin with the interior and engine bay if your gonna show it off in vids. i cant really see the interior but your gauges are cloudy as hell and this is what i do. sand down the black metal benzel and paint a bright color and use a plastic polish on the clear plastic and both help with shining light thru better and make a huge improvment. and for the engine bay a power washing and polishing the aluminum goes a LONG way!

Dude i have an 86 iroc z and my tach is broken the same way 2. It's because the motor is carbureted and not tpi. I like how you made the exhaust come out the side somebody told me once i should've done that.I Like the orange 2. nuttin against tpi but you should look in 2 gettin a carbureted motor you get more hp and better acceleration.

hey buddy, if u race this camaro where u tach is kinda sucks i had mine there on my 82 but i moved it right above where urs is so its right in my face, its a pain because of the windshield, i had to drill a hole and i put a bolt through the bottom of the dash and up into the tach and then put a nut on it...the wires that go to the tach i just covered up but i guess u could run it to thorugh the back so nobody can see them
