BF3 is an amazing step forward from BFBC2 and it does feel more like BF2 which is awesome every thing has been improved hit detection, visuals, sound design the maps are more complex the re addition of the jets is amazing I don't get bored of this game

the squad management was a pain at first but i kinda like it. i just dont understand why if im in a squad before i enter a match, why must i put myself back in a squad with my buddies? it should do it automatically
Something I really hate about this game (on all systems) the of button configuration. Now I'm a PC gamer but I bought BF3 for Xbox360 as well. I feel as if the buttons were mapped a tad odd and the fact that I can't set each button up to how I want it bothers me.
Secondly I don't know if its just me or my imagination but I had a enemy rise out of the floor (like a ghost....) and kill me. Are there hackers on systems already? Oy....
Well Battlefield 3 turned out pretty good in my opinion. The graphics are great and the bugs are limited. The guns aren't overpowered. :D I didn't expected a game that would beat the shit out of Call of Duty series. And I think most of the people did expect a CoD killer... And that caused the big disappointment with some people. :/

That minor observation concluded, my experience so far is only of the Beta, but I've been observing other people's discussions across Twitter myself and have noticed a significant number of problems I saw even in the Beta still lingering on in the released game. Unrealistic rockets, utterly nerfed sniper fire (or otherwise boosted CQ fire - 1 shot 1 kill style), prone is still the equivalent of body armour...
it's a good game. i'll have choice between bf3 and mw3 and i own them both. more serious realistic play bf3 or arcade run and gun mw3. depends on how i feel that day that moment.
Well obviously the game is not going to be as amazing as the trailers make it out to be. It's called advertisement, and so many people are easily fooled lolol.
It is the best FPS I have ever played. Gun play is incredible. Graphics are awesome. I like how hard the unlocks are and I like how much teamwork it takes to win. It is everything I was hoping for. It will be incredible to play for a long time.

I'm a huuuge fan of BF2, which I played on PC. then I bought myself a ps3 cause my PC couldn't run games at a decent FPS anymore... and frankly, I think they've lost some of the "simulation yet fun" spirit of BF2 by adding explosion, fire and blood everywhere to attract the average COD player. that just ruined it. too many things happening, this game is not focused enough. I just want BF2 with a graphics enhancement.

after seeing the beta game play (especially operation metro) my expectations dropped very fast. In fact I decided not to get BF3 until the prices drop below 20 bucks.
Yea, i agree with you that if nearly 10 milj. people try to play the game almost the same time, of course we can expect some server problems, so patience people before you're shooting this game down. btw nice job again man, keep up the good work with box :)
I could careless who was letdown, or who was pleased, i love the game despite the reviews, despite the bugs, despite the haters, I only care about me enjoying a game series i love and that i will continue to support. That being said, it does not mean i don't see its flaws and issues, i do see them, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game, i dont regret my purchase.
Go look at BF2, then look at BC2, Then look at BF3, they all been ported to a new game engine, added different war periods, new campaign, new multiplayer game modes, etc, all improved. then go read the history of the battlefield series on wiki, you will find almost all the battlefield series look similar, and the graphics have been improved since the first.
people expected a game similar to bf2 and they expected far too much to what dice could actually deliver. there was too much hyp over the game couasing some people to dislike it. the game is a really good game surparsing call of duty and bc2 maybe even bf2, i am really enjoying the game so far.
I'm loving the game so far and to be fair it's way better then i thought it would be on console. There are really just two things (except for connection issues) that bugs me right now. The first one is how bright the flash light is, outdoors, i get how it would blind you in a dark tunnel, but out in the sun...? The second one is the same as in bfbc2, when you try to spawn on a team mate and he dies, why does it automaticly spawn you at deploymen!?!? Otherwise, I am pleased. :)
Playing on the pc which is a complete different experience than the console ver. But atm, i love the game. I've always enjoyed the BF series more then the cod due to the teamwork aspect, maps, and vehicles. Its true, BF3 was hyped like no other, but nowadays, what game isnt? People will always feel disappointed no matter what. if something isnt to their liking then they whine. So on and so forth. Its a game.. Who cares if iit is or isnt the best game in the world or best shooter of all time
this game is addicting and amazing. I am stuck to playing it on ps3 but it is still a ton of fun. There are a few things that need fixed like lag on some of the maps, and the flash lights need a nerf in the daylight. The single player wasnt just meh but honestly who gives a damn about the campain in BF, its all about the multiplayer. =D
Game trailers (and movie trailers) always make things better than you think. Still I do like battlefield 3 multilayer, though the single player so far hasn't been amazing.
Battlefield 3 is actually a great game! For example when bf2 came out it wasnt seen as a true battlefield game: 1942 was very good, bf2 was "bad". bc1 & bc2 received a LOT of hate, and now "bc2 > bf3" or "bf1 > bf3" = INSANE. They just forget how the gustavs are annying (bc2), how granade spammers were annoying (bf2), how bc1 didnt have a parachute, how slugish the movement & how bad the hit detection was (bc2). Give it one month and you will see that this is a very good game. NOTHING is perfect
it's only been a week since released date. so it is going to be laggy and etc.
and the controls are the same as badcompany 2. why do you think there bad? there the same as a lot of the fps shooters except the kinfe. and you rarely use the knife in this game.
the only problem i have with bf3 is air vs ground warfare. its too easy for ground infantry with a stinger to lock onto a helicopter or jet. even though u can get flares for aerial vehicles. also the gatling guns on helicopters and jets are pretty useless and i think need some splash damage instead of having direct hit to kill someone, as its only possible to kill someone with a good connection with the pilot
The game is great. I think there may be some balance issues, and network issues, but it plays great. It's like a combination of BF2 and BC2, which is great. Most of my quips come from the bad community, people not going after objectives, runway camping, etc. The maps are already starting to feel kind of stale, though, because of the hard chokes, but if 4+ DLC packs come out regularly, I'll be happy to pay.
DICE, what was so hard about porting Battlefield 2 into Battlefield 3??? BF2 had commander, better squad management, vehicle handling and just about everything. Dont get me wrong the game is amazing but the maps are soo clustered together, everyone worries about kills instead of the flag. Also the vehicle unlocks are such a pain in the ass. I cant even survive long enough on a jet becuz i dont have flares. But in time, I know this game will grow on me :)
@HereDirtyDuck The COD series is huge and brings in record breaking numbers in sales each year. EA wants some of that. They will cash in on that gigantic COD market (COD Players who buy COD games) and Advertise heavily to them. Giving the consumer (mostly COD players) expectations of a "better than COD" expectation. This is why they have changed the gameplay, and will slowly copy and take lots of what is in COD gameplay so they can compete. EA SOLD OUT / didnt stay true. It is about money bro.
@DelaNoChe21 EA sold out i long time ago, and yes DICE has made "Casualfield 3" instead of a proper sequel. The casual market is where its at now w/ people wanting to play easy to pick up games and that require no skill to play(CoD). If you throw a CoD player into a game like BF2 they would say its "too boring" simply because their attention-span would not allow it. BF2 took patience,skill, communication and overall good teamwork to win; which is something CoD players arent know for. SHAME!
@HereDirtyDuck "commander" and "spawning only on team leader" features are in the hardcore mode...but with time they'll adjust the vehicles in the game, dice already said that they will make the jets tougher, so they wont be destroyed with 1 shot...

@HereDirtyDuck lol yeah thats always the catch 22, i cant get points for air vehicles because i keep getting shot down because i dont have flares because i cant get points for air vehicles. it really takes persistence for the vehicles but ill get there eventually
The game looks great but plays awful. I played BFBC2 for over 1000 hours and the weapons were fun to use and no matter what rank you were you could get some kills with them, BF3 guns have so much recoil regardless of fire rate that i find myself losing 70% of firefights simply because my gun is jumpy. Prone has brought a new breed of asshole to the game and any map with chokepoints this is clearly evident, I cant see myself spending the same hours playing this as I did with BFBC2.
@bennybee100 i dont agree, i feel that more recoil is better because then the game is more balanced (more recoil = more powerfull) and more difficult to master, and I really like that. I don't know about you but bf3 is a breath of fresh air to me. BC2 felt repetitive to me and the movement slugish, didnt had a lot of maps, conquest was more slow, less vehicles, etc.
But take into consideration that this is NOT Bad Company 3. Its the follow up on BF2, which had prone, more recoil, and was in general more hardcore and challenging.
I like the game damn much, but maybe you should look forward to BC3 :)
Or perhaps, learn to deal with recoil, by shooting more in bursts ;)
I have played nearly all of the BF games, I am well aware this is not BC3 im not some 12 yr old noob im a hardcore Battlefield 2 player and have experienced all the games. I think they have made a game that is tailored to try and take the COD marketshare, I fire in short bursts and know how to operate the guns perfectly fine I even have 2.5 KD if that means anything, but I feel the fun factor is gone and dont see where the hours of enjoyment are gonna come from.

Part of the reason I thought Homefront was a great game was because people assumed it would be bad, but it ended up getting A LOT of things right!
I think that even if there are things in BF3 that people feel like need work Dice has had the reputation of being willing to patch a game well after its release.
Game is awesome even with the minor bugs and stuff. It's just when your team is full of snipers or guys who just look at there k/d what makes it hatefull sometimes (samel like in BC2). Nevertheless when you get a squad together you can do some serious damage and have a lot of fun !!

ever since they announced mw3 and bf3 i have been on the the battlefield boat as far as which game i thought would be better. However, for the past two weeks i could feel that this game was not going to be as good as it was made out to be. I dont dislike it, but it just isnt as fun to play as other shooters, in my opinion.
It's a WIN for me. It has it's little issues here and there, but nothing that cannot be patched. I've had the most issues while playing on "Teheran Highway". Anyone else?

The game has a lot of potential, but between server side issues and terrible teammates it can get really frustrating. Right now I'd give it an 8.5/10 but with a patch and more server maintenance the game could be at least a 9.
DRMB Dude! It's so good to see a commentary from you again! Personally I am loving this game with the deepest part of my heart. Visually it is stunning, the gameplay is annoying at times but it's mainly the players and not the game itself.
In my opinion, the most important things to improve are the spawns. They are quite fucked up, in my opinion. Yes, There are fewer problems in CQ (I play only CQ) but in TDM, it's very bad. Evil Kit put up several videos about this. Apart this problem, it's the GOTY in my opinion and I really enjoy it. Oh yeah, the squad system is still not working properly

I have absolutely no problem with battlefield 3 I can easily play with my friends and it has everything I expected from it. There's just one issue for some reason my framerate drops to 0 all the time on kamavand peak and that's the only map where it happens. but that might just be my graphics card or something xD
I really don't think that it's looks THAT amazing, certainly not as amazing as it was advertized... I am playing on half HIGH settings and half MEDIUM settings, but I don't think that ULTRA really changes the whole game...
I think they need to nerf the support class. Everything else I have seen is very balanced and complete it's just I am sick of being gunned down from a T88 or M249 in 2 bullets from across the map everytime I spawn.

This game is so AWESOME! I love Battlefield series because there are always those moments when you have to take cover and teamwork going on with enemy infantry swarming in. Through the upcoming patches and DICE addressing the issue the game will be great and to me far more immerse/entertaining than mw3. Long live BF3 with all its map packs, etc.
I think its worth while to remember that bc2 mw2 and blk opps all had really really bad server problems and glitches at the start, but it seems 90% of the gamers have forgot about it. As you said bc2 had a lot of problems on pc, i can say now BF3 is pretty good, not many problems for me anyway.
I'm still working through the singleplayer campaign, so I can't really form an opinion on the multiplayer. But I loved the beta and I really enjoyed Medal of Honor. So I pretty sure I'll enjoy the multiplayer part of BF3. The kind playstyle that Battlefield brings to the multiplayer platform tends to be more my cup of tea then the Call of Duty games. Allthough I enjoy them aswell, COD games get stale for me rather quickly...
Battlefield 3 will be a let-down in the beginning, I know that. As was every game I have ever been hyped for. I'm used to the connection problems though, mainly because I play a lot of EA (Electronic Awfulness) games.

Went to the midnight release of this game and played until 7 A.M. and went to my marketing class in the morning. It was well worth it though. After playing Bad Company for so long this game was like a breathe of fresh air, despite the problems, but remember it has only been out a week. To be honest it is one of the best FPS games I have played in awhile, everything runs smoothly. It has been awhile since I have been hooked to a game like BF and I have been gaming hard. WIN! Well for console players only 24 is kinda big dissapoint. I myself prefer better gameplay over graphics but it still can have more players than MW3 has on one match. BF3 still is WIN. Why? Even some critics tried found minor problems to not give it high points because CoD fans.BF3 vs. MW3 is like Boxing match between 50 years old champ (BF3) and New Challenger (MW3). Even challenger wins we know who is real winner.

I don't like the way you plant a C4 it looks exactly the same as in COD, I miss the ability to toss the C4 in BC2.
I think the texture quality on PC is capped at medium even after setting everything to ultra which is a let down for me, cause i like my games maxed to enjoy the scenery, smoke, lighting etc...
I think the destruction could've been on a bigger scale and less specific.
I think Jets are too slow and don't require much learning to fly them.
@archdevilneverfails i hate the destruction in bf3 tbh, in bc2 you could destroy any building, and it will fall down any way, and any door you knife would break. annoying really
@xPuff1 Yep! That's whyI said that in the end, Bad Company 2 was a great experience. No doubt DICE will do anything to fix every little issue in the game. The only thing they won't be able to fix is the way some players play the game. :)

good comments, i think its great but some of the maps for 24 people are too dam big. If u miss all the vehicles u will have to run for some time to get to the action. Squad deathmatch is good fun. There also seems to be a lot of lag issues. Will judge better in a month or two when played it a lot more and it just hasnt been long enough out. Maybe MW3 may be the real surprise winner, looking forward to it

I could careless who was letdown, or who was pleased, i love the game despite the reviews, despite the bugs, despite the haters, I only care about me enjoying a game series i love and that i will continue to support. That being said, it does not mean i don't see its flaws and issues, i do see them, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game, i dont regret my purchase.

Go look at BF2, then look at BC2, Then look at BF3, they all been ported to a new game engine, added different war periods, new campaign, new multiplayer game modes, etc, all improved. then go read the history of the battlefield series on wiki, you will find almost all the battlefield series look similar, and the graphics have been improved since the first.

I'm loving the game so far and to be fair it's way better then i thought it would be on console. There are really just two things (except for connection issues) that bugs me right now. The first one is how bright the flash light is, outdoors, i get how it would blind you in a dark tunnel, but out in the sun...? The second one is the same as in bfbc2, when you try to spawn on a team mate and he dies, why does it automaticly spawn you at deploymen!?!? Otherwise, I am pleased. :)

Playing on the pc which is a complete different experience than the console ver. But atm, i love the game. I've always enjoyed the BF series more then the cod due to the teamwork aspect, maps, and vehicles. Its true, BF3 was hyped like no other, but nowadays, what game isnt? People will always feel disappointed no matter what. if something isnt to their liking then they whine. So on and so forth. Its a game.. Who cares if iit is or isnt the best game in the world or best shooter of all time

this game is addicting and amazing. I am stuck to playing it on ps3 but it is still a ton of fun. There are a few things that need fixed like lag on some of the maps, and the flash lights need a nerf in the daylight. The single player wasnt just meh but honestly who gives a damn about the campain in BF, its all about the multiplayer. =D

Battlefield 3 is actually a great game! For example when bf2 came out it wasnt seen as a true battlefield game: 1942 was very good, bf2 was "bad". bc1 & bc2 received a LOT of hate, and now "bc2 > bf3" or "bf1 > bf3" = INSANE. They just forget how the gustavs are annying (bc2), how granade spammers were annoying (bf2), how bc1 didnt have a parachute, how slugish the movement & how bad the hit detection was (bc2). Give it one month and you will see that this is a very good game. NOTHING is perfect

the only problem i have with bf3 is air vs ground warfare. its too easy for ground infantry with a stinger to lock onto a helicopter or jet. even though u can get flares for aerial vehicles. also the gatling guns on helicopters and jets are pretty useless and i think need some splash damage instead of having direct hit to kill someone, as its only possible to kill someone with a good connection with the pilot

The game is great. I think there may be some balance issues, and network issues, but it plays great. It's like a combination of BF2 and BC2, which is great. Most of my quips come from the bad community, people not going after objectives, runway camping, etc. The maps are already starting to feel kind of stale, though, because of the hard chokes, but if 4+ DLC packs come out regularly, I'll be happy to pay.

DICE, what was so hard about porting Battlefield 2 into Battlefield 3??? BF2 had commander, better squad management, vehicle handling and just about everything. Dont get me wrong the game is amazing but the maps are soo clustered together, everyone worries about kills instead of the flag. Also the vehicle unlocks are such a pain in the ass. I cant even survive long enough on a jet becuz i dont have flares. But in time, I know this game will grow on me :)

They will cash in on that gigantic COD market (COD Players who buy COD games) and Advertise heavily to them. Giving the consumer (mostly COD players) expectations of a "better than COD" expectation. This is why they have changed the gameplay, and will slowly copy and take lots of what is in COD gameplay so they can compete. EA SOLD OUT / didnt stay true. It is about money bro.

The casual market is where its at now w/ people wanting to play easy to pick up games and that require no skill to play(CoD). If you throw a CoD player into a game like BF2 they would say its "too boring" simply because their attention-span would not allow it. BF2 took patience,skill, communication and overall good teamwork to win; which is something CoD players arent know for. SHAME!

The game looks great but plays awful. I played BFBC2 for over 1000 hours and the weapons were fun to use and no matter what rank you were you could get some kills with them, BF3 guns have so much recoil regardless of fire rate that i find myself losing 70% of firefights simply because my gun is jumpy. Prone has brought a new breed of asshole to the game and any map with chokepoints this is clearly evident, I cant see myself spending the same hours playing this as I did with BFBC2.

@bennybee100 i dont agree, i feel that more recoil is better because then the game is more balanced (more recoil = more powerfull) and more difficult to master, and I really like that. I don't know about you but bf3 is a breath of fresh air to me. BC2 felt repetitive to me and the movement slugish, didnt had a lot of maps, conquest was more slow, less vehicles, etc.

But take into consideration that this is NOT Bad Company 3. Its the follow up on BF2, which had prone, more recoil, and was in general more hardcore and challenging.
I like the game damn much, but maybe you should look forward to BC3 :)

I have played nearly all of the BF games, I am well aware this is not BC3 im not some 12 yr old noob im a hardcore Battlefield 2 player and have experienced all the games. I think they have made a game that is tailored to try and take the COD marketshare, I fire in short bursts and know how to operate the guns perfectly fine I even have 2.5 KD if that means anything, but I feel the fun factor is gone and dont see where the hours of enjoyment are gonna come from.

Part of the reason I thought Homefront was a great game was because people assumed it would be bad, but it ended up getting A LOT of things right!

Game is awesome even with the minor bugs and stuff. It's just when your team is full of snipers or guys who just look at there k/d what makes it hatefull sometimes (samel like in BC2). Nevertheless when you get a squad together you can do some serious damage and have a lot of fun !!

ever since they announced mw3 and bf3 i have been on the the battlefield boat as far as which game i thought would be better. However, for the past two weeks i could feel that this game was not going to be as good as it was made out to be. I dont dislike it, but it just isnt as fun to play as other shooters, in my opinion.

In my opinion, the most important things to improve are the spawns. They are quite fucked up, in my opinion. Yes, There are fewer problems in CQ (I play only CQ) but in TDM, it's very bad. Evil Kit put up several videos about this. Apart this problem, it's the GOTY in my opinion and I really enjoy it. Oh yeah, the squad system is still not working properly

I have absolutely no problem with battlefield 3 I can easily play with my friends and it has everything I expected from it. There's just one issue for some reason my framerate drops to 0 all the time on kamavand peak and that's the only map where it happens. but that might just be my graphics card or something xD

This game is so AWESOME! I love Battlefield series because there are always those moments when you have to take cover and teamwork going on with enemy infantry swarming in. Through the upcoming patches and DICE addressing the issue the game will be great and to me far more immerse/entertaining than mw3. Long live BF3 with all its map packs, etc.

I think its worth while to remember that bc2 mw2 and blk opps all had really really bad server problems and glitches at the start, but it seems 90% of the gamers have forgot about it. As you said bc2 had a lot of problems on pc, i can say now BF3 is pretty good, not many problems for me anyway.

I'm still working through the singleplayer campaign, so I can't really form an opinion on the multiplayer. But I loved the beta and I really enjoyed Medal of Honor. So I pretty sure I'll enjoy the multiplayer part of BF3. The kind playstyle that Battlefield brings to the multiplayer platform tends to be more my cup of tea then the Call of Duty games. Allthough I enjoy them aswell, COD games get stale for me rather quickly...

Battlefield 3 will be a let-down in the beginning, I know that. As was every game I have ever been hyped for. I'm used to the connection problems though, mainly because I play a lot of EA (Electronic Awfulness) games.
I'm getting Battlefield 3 tomorrow, because of stupid Amazon, so I can't really give you my opinion. But I agree with you Arnaud. The game has problems in the beginning, but it will grow on you. And then you PTFO 'till your Fingers Hurt :)

Went to the midnight release of this game and played until 7 A.M. and went to my marketing class in the morning. It was well worth it though. After playing Bad Company for so long this game was like a breathe of fresh air, despite the problems, but remember it has only been out a week. To be honest it is one of the best FPS games I have played in awhile, everything runs smoothly. It has been awhile since I have been hooked to a game like BF and I have been gaming hard. WIN! Played BF3 on buddy and it was GREAT but actually it kinda dissapointed me too.
Well for console players only 24 is kinda big dissapoint. I myself prefer better gameplay over graphics but it still can have more players than MW3 has on one match. BF3 still is WIN. Why? Even some critics tried found minor problems to not give it high points because CoD fans.BF3 vs. MW3 is like Boxing match between 50 years old champ (BF3) and New Challenger (MW3). I don't like the way you plant a C4 it looks exactly the same as in COD, I miss the ability to toss the C4 in BC2.
I think the texture quality on PC is capped at medium even after setting everything to ultra which is a let down for me, cause i like my games maxed to enjoy the scenery, smoke, lighting etc...
I think the destruction could've been on a bigger scale and less specific.
I think Jets are too slow and don't require much learning to fly them.

@xPuff1 Yep! That's whyI said that in the end, Bad Company 2 was a great experience. No doubt DICE will do anything to fix every little issue in the game. The only thing they won't be able to fix is the way some players play the game. :)

@TheFingersHurt I can still not play the game on my PC because of bugs and because they can't fucking realease a game that works...It's a fail at least it is a fail until i can play the game:(

@Thesniped13 I dunno what i can say to you :P I have had no problems on pc really few dc's but hell thats expected in first few days of release. Then again it could be different area's of the world having different problems i dunno tbh. Sorry it didnt work out so great for you.
