Don't get the Samsung Haptic as another touch screen phone like the iPhone. Why? Because it is not. For the Samsung Haptic, it uses haptic technology. This will allow people to "feel the virtual world." How is that supposed to work? I don't know, but it sounds awesome.

Apple did not pioneer the touch screen - they just took a different approach then other pda devices (i.e. minority report. Second - they did not come up with the multi touch - The tech had been around for a long time - they just used it finally in a commercial product.

This $800 Samsung phone is meant to keep an American product on the bottom in Asia. Plus it has Haptic tech (refers to tech which interfaces the user via a sense of touch by applying forces, vibrations and/or motions to the user)

The Haptic phone only recently came out from Samsung, and it came out to compete against new LG Full Internet Browsing phone. The Haptic phone is supposed have about 20 different touch feedback vibrations and is going to be about $U.S. 750.00 in South Korea.

Okay, their website double pissed me off. First, it resizes my browser to this narrow strip of nothing. I HATE THAT. Then, I click launch and it opens a NEW window that maximizes my screen. DOUBLE HATE. Then it's all flash and moves like a turtle, so I didn't even stick around to see what it's about.

PS - iPhone development started almost 4 years ago, soon after the initial iPod launch. Did the Prada come out 4 years ago? Doubt it.

1) Iphone is NOT an invention. It's is just a 'better looking' and 'cool to own' device when compared to a normal Pocket PC.

2) Competitors either come up with similiar product at lower cost to gain that market share OR die with the rest. And this is called business strategy & decision making.

I concur. Its funny how people bash the iPhone and sometimes it should cause it isn't a perfect product and may not have all the really cool features of some phones, but if you seriously take a look at the other products out there, the iPhone does touch screen and media way better than the opponents. When the sdk and third-party apps come out the iPhone will surely kill the competition. There is a reason why RIM and smart phone makers are scrambling to come up with something to trounce Apple.

If this phone is considerably cheaper than the iphone once it hit's U.S. markets, I would definitely get one. While I'm a big Apple fan and the proud owner of a new MacBook, I'm not much of a phone talker so I can't justify the expense of an iPhone. But this looks to have an even more advanced touch screen than the iPhone!
