  • I think the Sargent Cadet that dismissed Bent was U.S. Grant. He graduated the next year in 1843. The other cadets that introduced themselves were Stonewall Jackson, George Pickett, and George McClellan....all West Point plebes in the summer of 1842 and all graduating in 1846....and would later meet up again during the civil war.

  • @ARKALER Nice!

  • @ahrensgay He would have liked it in the book.....he was the original Fat Bastard

  • Bent would have been better if he was, as in the book, a fat bad guy. I felt a bit disappointed by his appearance in this movie.

  • i watched this in class today and all day i just said "SUH"

  • In the book series, isn't Bent a Northerner?

  • "You will reply, 'no I don't, SUH!'"

    x'D

  • Philip Casnoff's acting is great here, but the accent is a bit too cornpone and over the top.

  • My name is Beeeeeent...

  • I would drill Bent!

  • Mah nayuhm......is BENT!

  • Bents a queer

  • @builderonone Actually in the book Bent is homosexual, and one of the grudges he has against the Mains is that Charles rejected an advance by him while serving in Texas against the Indians.

  • Bent TOTALLY made this series! LOVE the accent LOL!

  • Philip Casnoff, is that you??

  • @dlhoneysnaps ...yes that's Philip Casnoff.

  • Elkanah Bent is brilliant and the actor who played him was superb too. He played an evil, schemer so, so well. Thanks for posting

  • the east i believe? which do u think is superior sir?

    why the east sir!!!!!!

    what did u say?

i said the east sir!!!! nothing but dirt farmers down south, present company excepted sir!!!! as always!!!

  • I love this series. That Bent was a sadistic bastard!

  • Very good television show!!!!!

  • that kind of basttard i met in the academy. at the end they made of their lives a shit. a waste of time doing things like this in the drills.

  • Fantastic! My favourite serial ever!

  • hate Bent lol. I wud have liked to see him do that

  • Dang how many times was the word 'Sir' said in this scene? Haha!

  • Bent was a bastard....plain and simple. He was lucky he got a job years later guest appearing as a cantor on The Nanny. But I'll admit that he played the part of a bastard...well.

  • He was actually nominated for an emmy for playing the lead in the mini-series 'Sinatra' on CBS. Also later he had a role in Oz. Plus numerous awards for his stage acting. ;)

  • well...that's some very interesting information but it still doesn't take away from the fact that he WAS a bastard! Bent I mean. So thanks for the information but that's beside the point.

  • He was the best character.
