  • You would be an epic father, I think :D

  • ha ha

    the word "boogie"

(in a perfect Beavis accent:) haha ha ha

I have NO idear WHY, but EVERY time I hear that word,

Ali "RougueBlueJay" pops into my mind.

Alas, every1 should check that kid out, he's the 1 of the most hilarious British-Australians on the planet!

  • @Shaggy72 I very much agree about Ali. Totally awesome and hysterical in every way. A new AliChrisBill should be live soon.

  • I thought the title read: Boobie Patrol LOL!!!!

  • @davidisadadof2 Well...in reality.....lol

  • so how many well known people have you met while in the radio business?

  • @grandplans Quite a few. Many were just "in and out" for an interview. It was fun to see who would walk through the door.

  • BOOGIE PATROL!!!!!!!!!!!

    sounds amazingly epic!

  • @Schubes17 Indeed it was! That's the beauty of radio. I was in my early 20's and many of those girls would have never spoken to me otherwise. LOL

  • @billtvmacon hahahaha

  • Go Boogie Patrol!

"Sure your disappointed.....but think of how I felt." Haha.

It's interesting to hear the clips of your radio days. Would be interested to hear more.

  • @Dingotech2000 There will be more to come. I did 4 hours every morning for 26 years and the other 4 on afternoons or nights.

  • Boogie Patrol has an entirely different meaning when you have a snot-nosed little kid in your house.

  • Boogie Patrol has an entirely different meaning when you have a snot-nosed little kid in your house.

  • @DeweyTeeVee LOL! Spoken as a true dad!

  • Awesome! WNEX was the Hip place to be. Radio at it's best. Great t shirt!

  • @Superfro2 Folks this is Skeebo Knight, a Macon musician and great friend. I just got TWO new CD's in the mail from him which I am really enjoying. One helluva drummer.

  • I really enjoy all your radio stories!

  • @ModernApple Thank you for commenting AND watching.

  • Why'd you get fired?

  • @CackleFruit101 It was an adult station (boring) and I was 15 years old. People complained about my newscasts. The owner was all about news. Getting fired was the best thing to happen to me. Even that story has a story. I may have to make a follow up on BillTvMacon2.

  • @billtvmacon Ooh...I see. Awesome, then. Haha.

  • Bill, you're a fella who appreciates good radio and good music. Have you heard that over here in Blighty, there is a station called BBC 6Music (you can lsiten live from the bbc website). Well, it's by far the most diverse radio station we have and the DJs all clearly love proper music. Well, the BBC are pulling the station :( Fans of proper music over here are trying to save 6Music. It's like the day the music died all over again.

  • It's great to hear those stories. I was born in 81 and I always feel like i missed out on something when I hear about the 70s :D

  • BOOGIE. PATROL!!!!! :D

I found this video a lot of fun and very interesting. From what you've shared through your videos, it seems as if you've had some really great and fun experiences.

And working in Radio sounds like so much fun. Thanks for the entertainment once again Bill! ^__^

  • I always love your stories about radio. Reminds me that TV/Radio is alwasy evolving and you have to keep up or get left out. That's what I keep saying to all the people I work with in TV -- "The internet is the next wave, so let's figure out how to make it work for us." Dadly they don't always listen.

  • Bill, you know your videos are awesome

with the aid of the captions, they've also become hilarious :D 'bill elder' becomes 'valued terrier'

  • @AndySmiirnoff LOL Yes! I truly love the caption feature. Please, Google, don't fix it.

  • Fascinating bits of history. It was definitely a craft back then. I can't say the same is true today.

  • @l0gically Today, in Ah-MERca, radio is mostly voice tracking. Sad thing, really.

  • BOOGIE PATROL! xD can I get that as a ring tone?

  • You worked with Joel Goddard?!!! :-O

I worship the radio waves you transmit.

  • @confidential247 Thanks! I saw him last when he hosted the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame awards dinner. I got to do the intro that brought him on in his own "Conan" style. Joel is a class act and one of the smartest people you'll ever meet. It was like winning the lottery for this 15 year old to work with him and watch him work.

  • Boogie Patrol was a genius idea. I'm gonna have to find a way to incorporate that into my college campus somehow...

  • @NowImATenor One of the staff people thought of it and it was lots of fun. When the van was on the road people would follow it. lol

  • It's a shame most radio stations arn't really like that anymore. Bring back the pure entertainment!!

  • @AbsoluteTwoddle It is. But, local stations aren't willing to pay the talent it takes to do that kind of radio. Plus, to quote my friend Ron O'Quinn, no one from our days in radio are training the new batch of DJ's.

  • Another great video :)

  • all the radio stations here have the morning "dj's" that think everything that comes out of their mouths is solid gold humor, or you just get the sindicated shows that are worse day by day give me the great days of radio with live DJ's and real humor. always enjoy when you relive your radio days. Thanks again for another smile

  • @joshsdad57 Thank you! There is lots to tell. I'm grateful for my days in the business. It was so much fun.

  • C.B radio before Twitter/facebook . :~). Too From my iPod touch Lol .

  • I love the idea that shoutouts might not even be heard by the people they're for. It makes it even better if you do happen to catch it!

    Boogie Patrol sounds just fantastic!

  • @itiselizabeth I love shoutouts. It's the most valuable content in the videos.

  • "Before Twitter." Before Twitter life was better. When you said the big ape, I thought it you were going to say it was an inflatable ape that you would attach to your van? Haha I think weird. Another awesome video!

  • @SmithVlogs LOL! I can see that. WAPE could be heard up the east coast almost to North Carolina. I'll have to tell you the story of my first visit to that station. The guy who came to the door was a DJ wearing an army jacket and a rifle slung over his shoulder.

  • Sigh, I hope I will get to enjoy my work as much as you do..

I just have to figure out what I wanna do first.. :/

That's probably the hardest part for most of us..

  • I WANT A PRIZE! hehe :D

  • @pixonu I sooo wish I had a 6 pack of "Dew" to give to you.

  • I wish I would've been alive in Macon back when you were on the radio. Radio around here is terrible now, but it sounds like it was awesome back in the day.

  • @EndTimeTheory I wish so too. It was very awesome. Keep in mind there were no cell phones or any way to communicate. People would call in requests and tell everyone what was going on. So a good radio station could be a real part of peoples lives unlike now.

  • Hey Bill. I don't understand. If these were the guys that influenced you; why did they get you fired :).

  • @tidemover No, they didn't fire me, management did. It was an adult station (boring) and I was 15 years old. People complained about my newscasts. Getting fired was the best thing to happen to me. Even that story has a story. I may have to make a follow up on BillTvMacon2.

  • @billtvmacon Wow you were only 15. Why didn't they just address the problem instead of firing you. PS I was kidding about them getting you fired. That's why I put the :) at the end.

  • @tidemover I wasn't good at all. The owner of the station was all about news and when his friends started complaining that was it. I left WNEX in 1982 and went back to the station that fired me and had the number 1 morning show for years. So, it worked out OK!

  • @billtvmacon Awesome I love to hear a success story. Are you still on the Radio?

  • @tidemover Yes, in a different way. I do voiceovers and television/radio ID's for clients all over.

  • Ahh, those were the days . . . before the homogenized, computer-generated drivel being pumped out of the giant media outlets today. It's so great that things like Twitter and YouTube have come around to make everyone their own micro-broadcaster at least . . .

  • Boogie Patrol haha. Thats awesome.

  • @BarryAldridge Barry, Thanks. It truly was.

  • Ha ha ha, Boogie Patrol. Brilliant! Whats in the winter? Snow Patrol?

  • @zottepark LOL! I would have loved to do that, too!

  • BILL!! You unsubscribed... how could you. :P

  • @Budgiekens Sorry. You didn't make a video for four months. I thought you were through with YouTube.

  • @billtvmacon I'm here to stay on YouTube for a long long time. :) I got very busy in the winter and I couldn't make any videos for a while. I've been at it much more lately! :D

  • BOOGIE PATROL!!!!!!!! How did you have time for all of this in your life!? Love the radio videos!

  • @mynameischrisyeah Wait, How did I have time? Is this Chris...who never stops moving? LOL

Girls in bikinis next to a pool on a hot Georgia afternoon will invigorate you.

  • You rock so much, Bill!!!

  • I am starting to sense a Bill Cosby accent. AWESOMESAUCE!

  • @WhirledSol Hey...I emceed Bill Cosby's concert here one year. What a guy! He must have had a good effect on me.

  • Bloody hell, that sounds so cool. I was born in the wrong generation, I know it.

  • @TheEditingShop You've made a good point. I have always been so grateful I was born when I was. It was horrifyingly frightful, but invigorating and creative in many ways.

  • BOOGIE. PATROL.

  • Thanks so much for the shoutout Bill, because of this I made it past my first 100! :D

it really means alot to me.

I also work in a community radio station at the moment as a producer; it's the career I want to pursue.

    Thanks again!

  • @columthealmighty Colum, that's awesome! That's really cool about you working at a community station. Great experience.

  • @ThePauleman Great! I guess I won't be sleeping much tonight. LOL!!!!!

  • Yeah, I remember when radio sounded like that. You took me back to being about thirteen again (mentally not a long trip, but physically it would take a couple of days!).

  • @realspacemodels I spend more time mentally there than I'd like to admit.

  • hahhahahah Boogie patrol is AWESOME.

  • @RogueBlueJay It was, my friend, it was. Girls who otherwise wouldn't ever speak to me.....

  • Thanks for the shout out!!! Loved the video, just subscribed - but how have I not heard about you until now???

  • @TheL1ttleGuy Your music is awesome. Lewis told me about you.

  • lol, awesome

  • Ayye, excellent video.

  • Cool stuff, Bill!

    - Jason

  • @crimsong19 Thank you! Awesome times!

  • THANKS BILL!!

  • @lonesomemajor My pleasure. Whether on radio or YouTube, "Shouting" is my favourite thing! lol
