I was a preschool teacher for 20 years. This one of my favorite songs to sing with kids . This cover is awesome! Thank you so much! btw..I SO want that Union Jack ukulele! LOL
Wow, I've never hear this song before, but I love it! :-) Those lyrics are amazing, oh, I'm such a big kid! :-) Really fantastically done, Tony! I might have to put this on my iPod. :-) X
Hmmm, I actually like this song. In a lot of ways, this is such a happy put-a-smile-on-my-face sort of song even though I've never heard it before. It definitely is different from some of the more depressing and immoral (songs about killing husbands) songs. I actually like it very much.
Lovely tune - it does ring a vague bell probably from the BBC Schools music programme with that chap off Play Away who played the piano. That's no help at all is it? Like the look of the Union Jack uke in the background, very patriotic!
About a year ago I was actually recording this song for the Rise Up Singing project and came across the Jacobite song you mentioned, and so recorded them both. I don't know about the origins of this song, but I know it from Canadian kids' singer Raffi.
Very nice :) We have this song in Norway too, it's called "Åkken Bom" And yes, it is translated :)

Thanks - I think it was Jonathan Cohen who was the Playaway pianist wasn't it? Or was he Play School?
