Was my favorite baseball player growing up, and still is, when he left the Mariners for the reds a couple of years ago, I was upset for a while, I didn't follow the Mariners after that. He saved baseball in Seattle back in 95, and now he is saving it again. Though they won't win the World Series or maybe not even make the playoffs. Anyway, overall I'd have to put Mays and Griffey as the most gifted all around center fielders in baseball. Ruth's contributions are overblown because baseball wasn't even that popular back then. There were no Latin, Asian, African-American players, so he was a big fish in a MUCH smaller pond.

Griffey played in an era where he had worldwide competition, and he still dominated on the offensive and defensive side. If it weren't for a freak injury he'd be in contention as the greatest all-around player in the history of the game.
