I agree with you about how the Church of Satan can come off. I am personally a Theistic Satanist (mostly pantheistic) and I have found that their site comes off as really arrogant and missing the point that I think LaVey was trying to make. A lot of them think it's about being a brute, when really what I got from the Satanic Bible is that there is value in BOTH hate and love. He mentioned that you cannot truly love until you hate. too bad he focused more on the negative parts of mankind in it.

I've never had much dialogue between church of Satan members myself so I wouldn't know but from what I've been told it really hasn't evolved sense it's inception. Great video I truly enjoy your spin and input on things.

I'm 55 years old and was one of the first of Anton Lavey's followers back in the begining. I was full of guilt when I was 15 about my sexuality and going through puberty like we all do,but brought up Christian and couldn't deal with my thoughts which I was sure I was going to hell for. I owe my life to that man because of thoughts of suicide at that young age. I read The Satanic Bible and after that, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of my chest. I wanted to meet him,but never did.

I've listen to Lavey music and all but, i agree with you on the whole asshole high power satanist.My girlfirend met one were he work's at.He's a totally a asshole and pushing his views on the whole churchs around Iowa.I remeber in the satanic bible that thier something in the 9 Sins upon Whole thing.He's doing to my girlfirend. Painted I believe LaVey and Possibly even Barton in the cos book said it is not required to join the cos to be a satanist only to follow the tenets in the satanic bible. I have a big problem with occult orders charging money for initiations its because of this practice that swines plague the occult community now. I know the cos is not a occult order but still they do teach some less widely known concepts in their literature. And to me having money does not represent achievement...

It was the nine parts social responsibility one parts outrage thing. As far as Gilmore being a dirty occultist, I never really considered Gilmore an occultist by any means. And yes I am a member of the cos but it doesn't really mean much to me I paid 200 bucks for a silly card and modified version of Levi's Baphomet that "members" only get. LaVey named it the Church of Satan out of blasphemy toward the Christian infrastructure. I believe it is in the foreward in The Satanic Bible.
