I'll tell you why nageren. China, Japan, the European space agency and maybe, just maybe India, are all interested in the moon for two reasons. If they don't start working toward it now they will fall behind. the moon is rich in minerals. There is more to the moon than meets the eye. You are correct. Also, the Hasselblad cameras that the astronauts utilized needed aperture and shutter speed adjustment to compenstate for the extra glare. Sunlight, astronauts white suits, the lunar surface and reflected light from Earht itself. That's a lot of light. As a none-believer I come up with the questions others aren't thinking of. Why if Neal Armstrong was the mission commander do they refer to him as "Neal" and not "Commander?" Why is the footage from the moon so poor in quality? The Mission Control footage was better quality than the moon footage which makes no sense. How is it that with a 'five second' delay they seem to have instant responses?
It's only about a 2 to 3 second delay if they communicate with Houston. - Neal is more personalized, it identifies him with civilians listening to the broadcast. However, among the crew; he is most definitely the commanding officer deserving his rank. I'm not sure how informal it was among USAF officers of that time though.

Its a camera on the leg of the lander. If you live in Maryland, maybe you should visit D.C. Go to the Air and Space Museum, you can see a mock up of the lander right near the entrance to the the food court. Oh, and the return capsules are in the entrance atrium.

There was a very interesting article in "Wired" about the filming of the mission. Apparently the video that was played on television was not as high quality as was recorded and sent back to earth. The higher quality recording is lost somewhere in NASA.
The signal from the moon was actually sent to a station in Australia; it was quite sophisticated for its time, and gave a decent image. However, due to compatibility issues, they couldn't send the signal they were receiving anywhere outside the station, so they actually had to put a camera in front of the screen that they were seeing, lowering the quality of what was being seen by millions of people immensely. I just learned this.

question, this was shot at "night" or on the darkside of the moon, could anyone tell me what the temp on the moon is on its darkside? im sure its to the extreme, so the question is, what were the cold limitations on those space suits? i am curious.

As a none-believer I come up with the questions others aren't thinking of. Why if Neal Armstrong was the mission commander do they refer to him as "Neal" and not "Commander?" Why is the footage from the moon so poor in quality? The Mission Control footage was better quality than the moon footage which makes no sense. How is it that with a 'five second' delay they seem to have instant responses?

It's only about a 2 to 3 second delay if they communicate with Houston. - Neal is more personalized, it identifies him with civilians listening to the broadcast. However, among the crew; he is most definitely the commanding officer deserving his rank. I'm not sure how informal it was among USAF officers of that time though.

About the "whose filming is Louis (sic) Armstrong was the first on the moon" comment(s). The famous "1 step" line wasn't mentioned until 6 hours after landing. So this footage isn't the first time they were actually walking on the moon.

This is the first EVA on the moon. In the strictest sense, the first words spoken on the moon were, "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." They didn't emerge from the spacecraft right away because they had to eat first and it takes a long time to donn those 169-pound spacesuits (more like 30 pounds on the moon).

Its a camera on the leg of the lander. If you live in Maryland, maybe you should visit D.C. Go to the Air and Space Museum, you can see a mock up of the lander right near the entrance to the the food court. Oh, and the return capsules are in the entrance atrium.

There was a very interesting article in "Wired" about the filming of the mission. Apparently the video that was played on television was not as high quality as was recorded and sent back to earth. The higher quality recording is lost somewhere in NASA.

The signal from the moon was actually sent to a station in Australia; it was quite sophisticated for its time, and gave a decent image. However, due to compatibility issues, they couldn't send the signal they were receiving anywhere outside the station, so they actually had to put a camera in front of the screen that they were seeing, lowering the quality of what was being seen by millions of people immensely. I just learned this.

9. shadows. there is 1 light source the sun, but the shadows are different and cross over hmm? meaning 2 light sources. and when they are in the shadows of the lunar landings you can still see the astronaut perfectly! also when the astronaut is facing the camera and the sun behind it should be a silhouette but no. they are perfect and you can see every little detail on he suit.

7. if you speed the videos up x2 then the astronauts are running and the buggy is driving at normal speed that would be on earth.
8. there is no dust on the craft when it lands if it dropped down but the craft is spotless.

they would 6 sheets of lead but they were only protected by thin sheets of aluminium and paper sheets. and the space suits were mainly rubber silicon and other materials that wouldn't come up to scratch. this is why the Russians stopped their flights to the moon. the Russians have never sent a man to the moon.

5. how did they survive the space radiation. and one by one the astronauts and people involved with them die in mysterious situations. all of them. were they silenced? The radiation belt surrounding the planets. the sun has magnetic storms and spreads radiation all over space increasing it by 100 fold. on the time of the flight there was a massive storm lasting 3 days. but it had no affect of the Apollo crew.

The person who was originally meant to go on a test flight they were sealed inside and a fire started killing them all. baron who testified against the Apollo project and submitted a 500 page report of why. but 2 days later he was stuck down and the report is missing today. and 15% of the Nasa crew disappear and end up dead.

1. most of the pictures are doctored. the cross hairs that appear on all of them on top of the image but on a few they are broken and items in front.
2. there's no atmosphere on the moon so how is the flag getting blown around hmm?
3. it takes so much force to get off the moon so how is there no crater underneath? and the foot prints are still there. hmm wouldn't they get blown away.

thats due to the exposure.. the longer the exposure the more details you will see in space.. actually you need a exposure of like two days or longer (!) with the hubble telescope to photograph other galaxies... so nobody forgot to put stars in the sky ;)
