Has anyone ever noticed that whenever anyone fires a handgun in this series the frame doesn't blow back and ejects the shell casings? You can hear the casing eject and hit the ground but you never see it. That's the only flaw in this TV show. The rest is A-Okay.
@MrDenizen maybe its because you are viewing the show as solely a mob series. Its the story of his life, his problems, and they all come to the forefront, but hey, thats just how i view it
@MrDenizen the dr melfi bits fueled the whole series and gave tony some depth. Without those scenes this'd be nothing but gangsters killing eachother, although i spose that'd make a pretty cool series aswell
Why is it that you never see the top part of the gun move backwards when he shoots the gun. This is not the only time this happened. HBO needed to get their shit together back then.
Do all the dreams part in The Test Dream, remind you of Inception? I wonder if Christopher Nolan was a fan of The Sopranos...he did say he was a bond film, and some action scenes were influenced by the bond films.
Does all the dreams part in The Test Dream, remind you of Inception? I wonder if Christopher Nolan was a fan of The Sopranos...he did say he was a bond film, and some action scenes were influenced by the bond films.
*raising hand* What do i gotta count to before i can get up?....Tony: youre really dead...Phil: but i got kids....they got kids....hahahahahahaha thats some funny shit just like when we was kids
The Sopranos has the best, dream sequences in anything I've ever seen. Better than any arty foreign black and white film I've seen. They really tap into your subconscious, they're just like real dreams.
@ToliveAnimations Man that's the truth. They must have employed a psychiatrist to advise the production crew on how to simulate real dreams. The best damn series ever.
LOL, This is a very fouled-up scene since Tony had that dream with the talking fish in Season 2. It's funny seeing Annabelle Sciorra (Gloria Trillo) and Phil Leotardo (Frank Vincent) in the same scene. They were daughter and father in Jungle Fever. He's not in this scene, but Michael Imperioli (Chris Montisanti) played their brother/son in the same movie.
totally realistic as a real dream. however my dreams are more hazy as if the camera i'm seeing them through is filtered. you know wot i mean i know you do. of course that is impossible to recreate. when i watched this on tv i was thinkin ''i didnt tune in for this''...but, of course as time passes i really appreciate this genius episode far more.
Everybody knows that many of the actors in GOODFELLAS were also in THE SOPRANOS. Does anybody know whether they tried to get De Niro and Pesci on, too?
Just another thing about the whole whores and horse bit - im sure chase told carmella to say horse similar to whores cause in another episode where tonys fucking that valentina broad and wants to break it off, he says "For one thing, I already took his (Ralphies) horse" and then Valentina bitch slaps Tony because his comparing her (a whore) to Ralphie's horse...theres so much to this show
Bullshit, in my nightmares, any time I try to run the ground turns to mush, and I never get anywhere. Then whoever is chasing is about to catch me, just as I wake up. rofl!!
@cyberphant0m When I dream and someone is chasing me, for some reason I have the speed of someone who's 400 pounds lol, like I'm running in slow motion...
@cyberphant0m holy shit, totally the same with me, when I try to run in my dreams its like my legs are semi-paralysed, or sometimes i dream i'm shooting a gun at somebody but it has no effect on them, fucked up lol
Can anyone verify if that's Carmela holding the torch at 1:53? Looks like she's leading the hunt of her own husband. That's how he perceives his own wife. No wonder he cheats on her lol.
Doesn't anyone know that the fact that tony is on a horse looking down at camella means he thinks he's superior to her? Like as if he's on his high horse....
this episode was so fucking annoying, its like they had a lack of stuff to write about. the sopranos is an awesome show, but this episode, "the test dream" , and also the ones where tony is in a coma are unbearable. so many fucking dreams and hallucinations in this show. still they did a good job portraying what a dream is like, but i watch this show for the mafia action, not to watch 30 straight minutes (in some episodes) of dreams like in this episode.
@NickRica2 lol at your bit about mafia action. I agree with you this episode was too much. But the dreams can bring something, the ending of "join the club" it litteraly one of the best things I've ever seen.
True, real dreams are like this...several worlds combining... like you're running through Manhattan, you pass an alley turn left and you're suddenly in New Jersey
@ChrisFrenchComedy Not exactly, you'd have to swim in order to get to New Jersey... at least i think so... haven't been in NY for 5 years... can't remember how it was exactly :)
@Weslo2 Maybe. In my opinion the ending of the whole saga was created in this way to show us that Tony's fate is uncertain and can be both good and bad. Just like in real life.
so funny this idea ....and the actors impersonates very well in the dream too, giving the scene a comic side...like Phil dying shooted by finger shots of Tony B
Is the symbolism of Tony B. killing a high-ranking NY mob member in a front of a large group of people that Tony B. always wanted to be a nationally famous high-ranking mobster like Tony Soprano. and Annette Bening being in the dream is probably beacuse Tony Soprano wants to up there with mobsters like Bugsy and always wanted to fuck Annette Bening and Tony feels like a pirah when being chased and sees Artie as his 1 true friend and Tony feels high and mighty being on the horse.

IVomitOnYourGod 1 year ago
@IVomitOnYourGod true but you gotta admit
the whole last scene is filmed in Tony' perspective
(shows Tony, then the camera angle shows where he is looking etc back nd forth)
it indicates that the scene is from Tony' point of view, the very last cut to Tony it shows his point of view is black, darknesss, meaning death
David Chase said "it is all in the last scene"
regarding what happened to tony, If I'm correct the guy to walk in before AJ was associated with Phil
