I guess its ok to start of with, but you might wanna consider moving to a proper DAW like Cubase (for PC) or Logic (for MAC). Also, some decent monitors will be a big help when it comes to mixing. Belive me, it is possible to spend not much to get good results but it helps to have started with some quality basics, not just bits and pieces that you've pulled together, I'm talking quality computer, interface, monitors and good desk to work at.
textbook example that you don't need to shell out thousands to achieve professional results. As long as you got creativity and talent you'll be fine. I presume you played the canon inspired music in the background? if so well done!
hey wassup blueboyy.... do you think M-audio fast track would work well with Mixcraft 4, i dont know if you've ever used it or heard of it but its a pretty simple recording program, i use it on my Compaq that runs windows xp media center edition. I Also have what mite be a dumb question, but will the m-audio allow me to use my own keyboard sounds? because i dont wanna use the programs virtual instruments sounds.
the M-Audio fast track pro, i have a couple questions.. does it work with windows or should i switch to mac? do you need a laptop to record? caue i dont see anybody recording with a desktopand that's what i got and also, does it come with recording software?
first it work on windows...second the only thing you need on your computer is a usb port...It comes with recording software...But I really love working with Audacity...Google it,it's free!!!Really good product (quality/price)
@theblueboy676 lol audacity is not a daw, you cant fully produce with it. sure its good to have on the side for a few things but you still need a main daw like pro tools, reason, ableton, reaper, whatever full daw you like.
@theblueboy676 so at 00:40 is that audacity or pro tools cause i got the m-audio essentials and it came with like pro tools but it was the lower end of pro tools (what pro tools does this come with?) and didn't have alot of guitar stuff ?i had to return it cause i have an old computer and didnt work .
@theblueboy676 Check out Ardour it's an audio workstation. Better but more complicated to use than Audacity. It's free, open source or similar licensed software. You'll probably get close to zero latency in real-time recording with your m-audio card if compatible.
There's also JACK -- Audio Connection Kit to connect to different programs and VSTs. It's great fun, open source and pretty awesome. A lot to learn when connecting to different compatible programs.
@theblueboy676 wait so youre saying that the m-audio interface takes audio and converts it to midi via usb? just got the fast track pro and am havin the toughest time getting sound out of it. i can her it through the headphone jack on the interface itself but for some reason there is nothing coming thorugh on my pc..im using ableton live 8
@TCMusics i have the m-audio interface and if you get it from musicians friend yes it come with pro tools software and it capable with a lot of other softwares and yes it works with windows and yes u can use desktop its a good deal i would go for it i love mine
@theblueboy676 I have the same thing going on.. minus that pedal it sux lol. but I connect my half stack marshall str8 to the Fast track M-audio. works pretty sweet! and I use acid pro 7 for the multi track recording. then I add drum tracks to it... you should post recordings would love to hear them. u can check what i recorded on my page dude.
The point is to show you that you don't need to buy 10000$ in equipement to get a good quality sound..Here's the point I hope you are happy now...Feel free to reply...
hello thre,i just bought fast track m audio, but small problm with instalation, latncy etc....can you just describ where to put what and some step by step for dumies..during the instalation..
