I also have to say this sound has that sort of dream state *drifting away* kind of feel...It's a very relaxing and beautiful piece. I believe he was going for that clockwork effect. This song just reminds me of a timer for some reason. That must have been the direction Desplat was going for...It makes perfect sense, because this is a pivotal part of Benjamin Button where he is reaching the end of his life...and time has made him younger and he's trying to make the best of his time left.

I never realized Alexandre Desplat did this score! :O SO utterly beautiful..He also did the score for New Moon and it's really soooo much different. I hope that we see both styles used in Deathly Hallows part 1.I believe they chose Desplat to do it due to the fact that he can sound like John Williams. Just watch the transformation scene of Jacob Black in New Moon and it screamed Williams influence*had that Harry Potter 3 sound*I still really hope Williams does part 2, but I'm happy with Desplat.
