I remember seeing this tour in Rotterdam. It was the first big concert I got to experience and it simply blew me away. At the end of this song Peter was standing right in front of my sister and me with only his face illuminated by the green spotlight. It was an amazing moment!
"Walking through the undergrowth, to the house in the woods. The deeper i go, the darker it gets. I peer through the window, knock at the door, and the monster I was so afraid of lies curled up on the floor."
Absolutely beautiful. One of his best songs off, in my opinion his best album.

I went to this concert in Los Angeles. I love Peter Gabriel... all the way back to the early Genesis stuff, but this concert was so boring I left early. It was so programmed that there was no life to the performance. I mean, watch the musicians on stage and tell me they don't look bored out of their minds. It all felt very pretentious and bombastic. This was my favorite song off the album, so I was glad they played it first. Some things are better left in the studio.
@availablelight1 It sounds like your like me since you say this is boring, do yourself a favor and go see Blue October in concert if you want an amazing to even epic at times of a performance, he's sure to get your attention. They tour about twice a year so it's not too hard to catch them and you aren't a quarter mile away from the stage.
I'll never forget when I first heard this song. I was going through a rough time in my life and I could really relate to it. It's defintely haunting and beautiful all at the same time. "I have my fears but they do not have me." What a great song! 5 stars! The DVD's of the "Growing Up" tour are awesome!! --Kim
