nice fish, I have several myself. Is there a reason most flowerhorn tanks on here have very little gravel in them? If so I will take the gravel out of mine. Also, where did you buy those black butterfly clips? I cant seem to find them anywhere.

@jepam100 --- I don't think there is a way for FH not to be aggressive. That is their personality very territorial creatures. I suppose that someone out there will some day cross breed it with a less aggressive fish so we all can enjoy a tank of these beautiful fish without having them shredding each other to pieces.

What's your Ph level and Tempature? I have many flowerhorns but will not breed.. Been a year now and no breeding.. I tried pairing flowerhorns together untill i got a pair that didn't fight... Please help me.. Want to breed but none.....

@sOLoTip510 have you tried using a water conditioner plus using a ph neutralizer in which case both help reduce the stress levels plus what is your gravel color....they do much better with natural gravel and some hiding spots of course?

Females are typically smaller in size and hump. The hump is where flowerhorns store their fat. In case someone's wondering, having it eat high amount of fat doesn't make the hump bigger. It's heredity.

possibly they are unfertilized, unfertilized eggs are white, if the eggs arnt white then i guess your only hope if to separate the parent from the egg once they are fertilized

timmyphan after they lay eggs you can remove both female and male from the tank just leave the eggs plate in the tank and make sure you give oxigen pipe to the eggs,if you want baby fish come out quickly put your fish tank under the sun!!!!
