It struggles - it's all uphill out of Mallaig! It can go faster in the other direction (but generally doesn't - it usually slows and or stops of the viaduct to let people take pictures!).
I went on that steam train some years ago with my family. I got soaked trying to take a picture when going over that viaduct in the pouring rain. I absolutely adored the scenery in Scotland and the Jacobite Express was out of this world. I love trains and that was the icing on the cake. Even in the rain, people were trying to get photos of the train everywhere they could. Thank you so much for letting me see this video and others.
Good evening cattleman. You may like to know that there is an unbelievable DVD about the West Highland Railway, called STEAM TO THE ISLES. It is made by a company called 'PSOV'and you can find them on the internet. They specialise in the highest quality railway videos and the one I've just mentioned has got to be the best. Kind regards from Hugh, alias Railmon.
so cool

I walked along that path under the viaduct in 2009 -that viaduct is something else. Its very high when you are underneath it.

Cierto, es el mismo puente que Ron y Harry sobrevuelan. Es una de las escenas más impactantes

That's also the same bridge where Harry and Ron nearly got hit by the train in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
(In the scene with Ron's flying car.)

Love to see a clip from the other end of the viaduct as she puts on the steam to head up that rise!.

Really, really nice. As a Scotophile and a steamophile in Australia, I'll have to go to the land of the Scots to witness this one for myself.

I saw it stabled with some "Hogwarts" coaches in Inverness

Was that in July with the Hogwarts coaches? Haha, I was in one of those coaches. What a fun ride!

It's not, but it's the same line. The train here is The Jacobite, which isn't the one they used for the films.

looks very like it though. its great to see the old trains, more to look at.

The Jacobite is run by the West Coast Rail Co., who supply the coaches to Warner Bros.
