The beauty of this Prelude and Fugue...is that no one has a single consistent interpretation!!! You can never go wrong learning it!!! :D!!! (I cannot wait to upload the fugue after I perform it today!)
I would not compare this rendition with Rübsam. I think Koopman is the better choice for comparison. But I clearly prefer Karosis rendition in any case.
Just have a short look on bar 7 at 0.30. Most of the others play here a mere sequence of sixteenth notes. He emphazises beat 1 and beat 3, what gives this single sequence a bouncing character. And this rendition is full of such details.
I do not think, that he especially trained this style of articulation. It is naturally musical genius. He plays with the piece beyond the mere correct performance.
I especially liked your expression, which was not romantical (many organists tend to play this work more romantically) and you still acentuate the most important parts/notes/motifs.
I did like your speed. You were not too much fast neither too much slow.
The only point I think you should improve is in the articulation, which was a little too much leggato, especially in the theme.
I have the opposite impression. Legato great, but a bit too much rubato. "Theatricality" certainly doesn't bother me; it's good performing. He is an excellent player. 5*****
I think this is a little too much theatralic, with that I mean you move too much with your body and yout hands. But nevertheless good interpretation and playing without mistakes!
Excellent, even if (in my opinion) both the prelude and the fugue are a little bit too fast. To make a comparison, your tempo in the Fugue BWV 548 is marvellous! Thank you for these videos!!
A g-moll fúga sokkal jobban tetszik, ugyancsak Karosi Bálint előadásában.
A very good organ, played very well, indeed.

Beautiful performance of what to my ear is Bach's most dignified fugue.

THEATRALIC!!! If you playing bach, the only things that are moving are your hands and feet!

Still splendid? Who is Rübsam?

Quite superb playing of course! The interpretation lacks though the building up of the tension, which I like. Tempo too slow.

That was wonderful and I enjoyed the little guy in the background posing for the camera.
