When I first played the game, one thing I loved was how, when you first fight him, Magus's text autoscrolled to match the speed of his theme's intro. Just a little touch that shows you how much effort was put into making this theme perfect.

Played this game and loved it to death before the TFS episode. I was ELATED to hear this play for Piccolo's return! I had to come here and see what other people thought. I'm surprised that a lot of people did not know of CT prior to this. But I'm happy that many others love it as much as I do.

Truly one of the greatest themes of any videogame.

And I feel that Magus was probably the most complex character, with the most interesting back story of the other characters in CT.

To all those coming here after seeing Piccolo's return in Dragon Ball Z Abridged 25, welcome. Understand that you are hearing one of the finest boss battle themes EVER. If you haven't played Chrono Trigger, go out to a store and pick up what is widely considered one of the best games of all time. There's a great remake on Nintendo DS.

You will not be disappointed.

The DS "remake" is actually more of a port with a few added features. I mean the core of the game is hardly diffierent. They upped the resolution a bit and gave the interface a bit of an upgrade to suit the DS's needs. And there is some bonus modes. But it is hardly a remake.

first time I ever played CT, got to this point in the game I already liked the character Magus and was looking forward to fighting him. then you get this intro and you know ITS ON! enter battle and get crushed by 2 huge blocks of ice, ravaged by lightning, that cool triangle attack plus an awesome attack that is called Dark Matter and on top of that he fights with a SCYTHE! can this guy do everything!?
