I visited Russia last year, and went to the Fine Art Museum in Moscow, but there were two lines one to see the creepy wax looking Lenin and the other to see some of the worlds most beautiful fine art. My dumbass got into the line to see lenin,6 hours later released back out into the red square I was to fucking tired,hungry and creeped out to wait in line to see the art. I went back to the hotel, picked at my food and slept restlesly. Asside from all the starving poor people. Russia is beautiful!

also dont forget that Russia was able to move 2 divisions of troops thru the caspian mountains in hours, something that takes weeks of planning, not to mention the sudden appearance of the Russian fleet and the pre planned targetsd of the Russian Air Force, Putin has been planning this for years, he is actually embarresed right now since the Russian military has been subpar they may be winning the Ground war, but so far Georgia has been winning all the dogfights in the air

It's terrible to say, but I wish we had leaders with the integrity of Putin and Medvedev. Instead we're stuck with Bush and Cheney who will hopefully be tried for war crimes after there terms come to an end! I'm not saying that Putin and Medvedev are perfect, but they are world class leaders, whereas Bush/Cheney belong in some sort of pre-school somewhere in comparison!

The other former soviet countries are nervous about retaliation from Russia if they are pro-west. They also (Ukraine, etc.) want to joining NATO. US is considering kicking Russia out of NATO.

Russia has been bombing areas inside Georgia not part of the conflict..eg. capital of Georgia. Oil pipeline cuts through Georgia produces 200 billion barrels. Also Europe depends on the gasoline and this may cripple their economy. Russia does not want Georgia to become a member of NATO. Georgia's president is pleading for a cease fire and for help for the US and allies.
