I prefer braiding because it's not damaging what so ever and I think it looks a lot more natural. This is pretty, but It's very time consuming and it involves putting heat on your hair which you like to avoid as much as possible. The easiest way to get natural beachy waves in my opnion is taking a shower at night ( or just washing your hair whatever) and braiding your hair into 2 slightly lose braids while your hair is still wet.

The braids last longer tho, the hot process is a slave to humidity, and will fall. If you do the braids, they only get curlier in the humidity. If you really want the waves to last a LONG time. SUPER condition your hair before braiding, Ive had mine last from 5AM to MN doing the braids ( Im a nurse, so I have some LONG shifts sometimes) and I need waves to last if Im going wear them in to work, don't want to start with waves, end with flat. Heat process always falls. But this work as temp. waves

OH, you look so cute with the wavy curly hairdo! I did the same thing this morning to my hair, only I used clairol lock'n roll hot pincurlers, which are not made any more. I have had them for a long time. Also, I liked lanaindiana's vid on how she did the wavy curls using conair hotsticks. This curling iron you used is really cool too.
