The E60 was a race car, not a very good town car like explained in the other video, drivers were getting over the car after having it for a short time the E60 and a comfortable town car with this model. I'd take this over the latter any day if I could only afford one car.

@MichaelJackson0403 A designer by the name of Kristopher Cemail has been feeding BMW since 2004/2006 interior and exterior designs ousting chris bengal. Thank god, because the kidney grille up until about 2009/2010 was getting pretty ugly looking, almost to a point where it was unbearable.  I think most BMW fans know when the aesthetic of the BMW car is in a slump or not.. so far this Mystery designer from Chicago has been pointing the exterior designs in the right direction.

For those of you saying that it is too heavy, remember that it is a luxury sedan. The E39 M5 was also ~4,000 lbs./~1815 kg. This is M5 territory.  As a reminder, the E39 was also a V8. I have a hunch that the folks saying that this car is not characteristic of an M5 or even a BMW haven't any clue as to what they're talking about.

It's not just this M5 but it seems EVERY future M car is being dragged down a route I think would have given Paul Rosche and his team the horrors.

I suppose what a real M car is varies from one person to another but if you ask me, BMW are seriously losing it. Call me stuck in the past but if that's where the best M stuff is then that's where I'll stay! (And my E46 M3 CSL is hardly "clueless" is it?).

I think you're mistaking your 'route' with that of the M3. I will admit that the M3 is currently too heavy. If I remember correctly the E30 was 2800 lbs., and the E92 is 3600? That is a gross progression, no doubt. However, in terms of weight, the M5 has stayed the same for the past twelve years and has only gained features and functionality from generation to generation.

Progress? Not really. Not as far as "The Ultimate Driving Machine" ethos is concerned, anyway.

I know all cars in general follow this "more is more" aproach to things but it's just all totally wrong. If Lamborghini can see that and admit enough is enough then anyone can!

@Thebmwisthebest I think if you watch the video clip you will see that it goes from 100 to 40 and then 90 when the sign is obviously 100. I have a brand new BMW 535d and previously a BMW 730d and I can assure you some of the electronics in a BMW are that dumb. For example the tyre pressure monitor that gives false negatives on tyre pressure once you take it on snow or fast highway driving. I might be completely wrong but from experience they do great cars but so so gizmos.
