Just tried this out, if you decide to give it a whirl, make sure you sanitize it first, just put it in a pot of boiling water for 5-10 mins, let it cool, then scrub the coils with steel wool under warm running water. screen can be something as easy as a piece of tin foil with a few holes poked in it. Cheers!

haha no problem, but you might want to wrap it in electrical tape to be sure its completely air tight

To whoever sees this comment, this may help out a lot. So listen up. If you don't want to worry about the electric tape not sealing up and wearing off sooner or later, then go to your local lowes or local hardware stores and you will find different size 'grommets' which you can use to seal a bowl/slider on a bong when you make a hole. Comment me back if this helps at all. And if you want to know how to make a hole in glass and tools to build it then message me.

its not cracks, its a spring and it stays tight enough for smoke to go through. i have a pipe thats a spring and bowl. Never though of this tho.... great idea!
