  • Movies such like Transformers 2, G.I. Joe, and hopefully the movie 9, might slow down the moviepocalypse

  • Err... Transformers 2 looks good and it might. But number one only contributed to the moviepocalypse. Here's to hoping the next one isn't robots making pee pee jokes and terrible plot?

  • watchmen is the worst movie ever. Everyone watch Paul Blart and 12 Rounds.

  • You know there is a reason we call it Paul F***in' Blart

  • but watchmen fail

  • considered independet film they were treated as such only released to 300 to 500 screens and didnt do well but the dvds sold fast and still sell good today i personaly like to think at the movies but hollywood seems to be totally going agenst it sad but true i feel this wont change til there forced into a corner and with the wealth going down the drain i don't think its going to be look soon they wont be able to throw millions at a picture and then they might wake up

  • My point you hit it perfectly. I will give you two movies that came out a few years ago. And i can watch them over and over cause they never get old. And no matter how much you watch them they always revil something new. Session 9 and Frality and The Machinest .They were made by directors that knew how to perfectly direct the source meteral and weren't affraid to tell the studios no were eaither doing it our way are not at all im talking about Brad Anderson and Bill Paxton but because of there

  • Lol, fast and furious made 72 million this weekend!

  • wow fast and furious to do 35mil your right on buddy !!!! ha not it did about 70mil and some change so what does that say??? u dont have a clue of what you are talking about and your fast and furious review says you have alote of time on your hands and that your drive a beat up ford tempo!!!!

  • Great review as always mpc! 5 *s. I kept busting up laughing at all the jokes. Especially the laser joke! Thanks 4 writing mostly audio. ;) As 4 Duplicity I did not c it cuz it looks boring. What is it exactly? It looks like 2 much is going on & that it will fall flat. I hate when that happens. U r left confused, asking "Well what happened!?" So instead of explanations there will be twists on top of twists which I hate as well. I can only suspend my belief so far!

  • ... with this in mind and after going over the synopsis of watchmen, i feel that this could be awesome and up my ally. In terms of the numbers i guess you're right that the movie should have been broken down into installments, and the trailer should have highlighted the story instead of the visuals and the producing credibility. I guess this is the sign of the "moviepocalypse."

  • i still havent seen watchmen, but i watched a video comic version of the novel a few weeks ago and i started to get really stoked for it, especially after you started to give it good feedback. I still plan on seeing it, but i am disappointed about its numbers this week. Usually im not a big fan of comic book movies. I feel they are way too predictable. For instance, i wasnt impressed at all by iron man. However, i loved the dark knight because it was unpredictable and had a ton of twists...

  • Ok the deal with DC and Marvel movies is that Marvels characters are easy to market and sell. Think about it, Iron Man Xmen Fantastic 4, Hulk, Captain America Spiderman. they can all be recognizable and marketed to kids with cute little tag lines and toys to go along with the movie. DC for some reason isnt marketing there major players like the Green lanturn, Flash, Captain Marvel etc. I mean come on Watchmen no one but watchmen fans knows what watchmen is that was the problem and the R rating

  • I have never liked Julia Roberts, and Duplicity seemed like a desperate attempt to rekindle her career, I wouldn't have watched the movie even if she weren't in it though, because it just didn't seem like my type of movie

  • Transformers ROTF will end the movie apacolypse!!! thats the movie I cant wait for most!

  • I never thought a Watchmen movie should of cost as much as this did. The story does not lend it self to be a big time blockbuster movie. The movie should of been made for under $50 mil... and should of expected just around $120 mil world wide. But Snyder jacked up the action... and the expectations became unreal. Oh and the movie was pretty good but not great IMO.

  • Fuck Fast & Furious.

  • what about last week's 5 -10? other than that nice video how much did watchmen make last week??????

  • marvel movies suck! DC is more organised. the story is really good for DC and Marvel is just dumb

  • Because everyone hated Spider-Man 1, 2 and Iron Man?

  • FUCKIN BRILL!

LOVE what you said about too fast to fast to care what its really called.

    keep fighting the good fight

  • you shouldn't have mentioned Fast & Furios at the end, it ruined your april fools day joke.

  • I actually wanted to watch FF4 because of the Actor Factor. Hasn't it been a long time since we've seen Diesel in any action movie?

  • Great breakdown as always. I look forward to these every week.

  • 4 Fast 4 Furious

  • duplicity know i hadn't even heard of it.

  • ok, watchmen may have been a succesful comic book but amongst the general audience its virtually unknown. the reason the dark knight and 300 did so well is becasue everyone, and i mean EVERYONE and their mothers know who batman and the spartans. the batman and the spartans are embedded firmly into the psyche of our culture. the fact that watchmen made as much money as it did is impressive in my mind.

  • I must say this again....

WHY IS NO ONE WATCHING THE WATCHMEN

  • i know it was good...

  • People thought they were getting a comic book movie. Instead, they got a movie based on a very intelligent book with some pictures in it.

  • i just tote is as the public bein dumb as fk . I weep for comic adaptations bcuz this movie did it our way bt we didnt make the studio money by goin box office. Im hopin those tht go to watch it over the next couple wees tht word of mouth makes it more box office

  • it sucks

  • Poor Watchmen. I'm gonna help its gross by seeing it with two of my friends and I (and one of my parents :P). The graphic novel was AMAZING. It was definetly for those who were open-minded, or smart. I look forward to it, besides, the director did 300 and Dawn of the Dead, I love those films!

  • Duplicity could not spark my interest at all. I didn't get what it was going for, I guess I could only picture Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

  • The Dark Knight and Iron Man are the best comic book movies in the history of film. Watchmen was very good but it does not even compare. I hope Green Lantern will be better Watchmen

  • I actually was interested in seeing Duplicity, but I probably won't bother until it comes out on DVD.

  • I never really liked the original "The Fast and The Furious" although I did enjoy the cars, action, babes, and stunts.

I gave up on "2 Fast 2 Furious" when I saw the childish marketing for it. To this day I've not seen one second of that crud.

Then we get to "Tokyo Drift". I pretty much figured it was going to be the worst of the bunch. Then one day out of curiosity I rented it and... It wasn't bad man. Songs were great, Josh Lucas was ok, and the ending was satisfying.

    6.5 out of 10

  • its upside down!

  • April Fools Joke. Youtube thinks there funny.

  • I actually want to see Duplicity. Mainly because i liked Michael Clayton and I want to see another Tony Gilroy film.

I can't belive Watchmen has taken such a fall. In a world were Paul Blart and Haunting in Conneticut does well but Watchmen drops, it makes me sick. Watchmen should have at least outgrossed Fantastic 4, X-Men, and Batman Begins. Such a great film and great story but is most likely to smart for most audiences. This is a good example of the moviepocalypse.

  • Watchmen is about a graphic novel that you would have to read to understand the movie, most people who watch movies that plot is inside and not something you'd have to research about unless you want to.

  • batman begins and x-men were way better. Sorry if my grammar is bad my eenglish isn't to good

  • HOW THE FK is XMEN better than watchmen???????????!!!

not those movies, especially not X3

watchmen had plot action nd special effects what more could ppl want????!!!!

  • how about acting?

    Actual suspense?

Good direction Snyder visionary my ass.

It was a good movie. But was it on x2's level?

    Hell fking no.

Batman Begins, Xmen 1&2 Spiderman 1&2 paved the way for movies like The Dark knight and Watchmen to be taken seriously. Thats why it got bad reviews, comic book films will be treated as a superior genre now. Especially after The Dark Knight, studios have to step up there game if they want audiences to show

  • Xmen2 is better than watchmen IMO. I was really impressed with watchmen for the first half but it still felt disorganized after a while and it lost momentum towards the end

  • You really should give Knowing a try I'm telling you. If Dark City can separate itself from the Matrix and 13th Floor in movie history Knowing can separate itself from the usual clue following to save the world movie history too. I know while you're watching it things like the stupid father-son handshake thing they do will scream unoriginality but some how it works for the movie.

  • I haven't seen Duplicity yet though I do want to see it but not for Julia Roberts or Clive Owen. They're both decent actors but I'm more interested in the clash between Paul Giamatti and Tom Wilkinson as the heads of the companies that Robert's and Owen's characters are working for. I love both actors especially since they were in HBO's John Adam's miniseries. To me that just screams: John Adams vs. Ben Franklin. Totally awesome.

  • I just fell outside of "Duplicity"'s target demographic (25-60).

  • God I hate April Fools day!!!!

  • Maybe people want smart, but they don't want depressing? How come the two are thought to be mutually exclusive? People don't want stupid and explosions exclusively, they want conflict and story and characters that can be cared about, and those conventions (in my experience) are thought to be too passe for 'smart' films.

  • this comment is upside down... =D

  • fast and furious is the forth one you dum ass they even said so the actors and the Intrview

  • it is technically the fourth one to come out (but then you might as well say the phantom menace is the fourth installment to the star wars saga which it is not) this one explains how dominic knew han from toyko drift, so its between 2fast 2furious but before toyko.

  • For some reason Duplicity drew a very old audience at the theatre that I work at. I haven't seen it yet, but I hear it is really smart and that it is not a chick flick at all. I understand that the movie is better than the preview leads one to believe.

  • asshed

  • O yeah, and I didn't see Duplicity, because it seemed like a trite version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, featuring former A-Listers. I never liked a Julia Roberts movie before, so this turned me off as well (her choice in movies...)

  • WTF??? 'A' for Watchmen?? no way! It's the best movie out at the moment and one of the best this year probably. The Fanboys and Critics should get an 'F' for always comparing it to the novel and inspiring people to give it bad word of mouth. Marketing a 'D', although for me, the trailers actually made me curious hence, they worked. The rest should get a 'C', because they didn't know any better and were told it was a shit movie, so it's their right to not care. Overall this would be an 'E' or 'D'

  • The Fast and the Furious is actually rather good plotwise, and after seeing Fast & Furious trailer (before Watchmen started funnily enough) my brother had the theory that this is the 'true' sequel to the fast movie, not the other 2 that came before, since they were clearly cash cows. I don't know whether the plot of 'Fast & Furious' will actually be as good or better than The Fast and the Furious though. I won't be able to watch it when it's released though so I'll just wait and see.

  • dude fast and furious is actually the third one and the fast and the furious toyko drift is the fourth, its basically an interquel.

hey the bgbb i mean this in absolutely full offence but your fucking retarded. watchmen is a great adaptation to the graphic novel, but all you fanboys say it sucks because of the ending change?.......just shoot yourselves please. and bgbb their is no sequel cause their was only one graphic novel of the 12 issue series you dumbass.

  • I've seen Duplicity, it was bulls***

  • Duplicity will probably fall on its face because it's nothing new and it also feels allot like an attempt to be like Mr. and Mrs. Smith except with less pizazz and humor. It also looks rather bland.

Something seems off with this video and the other, there's these strange pauses at times...

  • I feel Watchmen is being realy under-apricated. It's a smart and brutal film that as you said, is probobly the best movie adaption of the comic we're going to get. It would seem the nit pickers and bad word of mouth is realy hurting it!

  • I'm happy watchmen fail.

  • what the hell lol XD

  • I didn't go and see anything this weekend. I might go and watch Fast and the Furious!

  • WHAT THE FUCK?!!

  • It makes me very happy that Watchmen failed at the theater. It almost ensures that they won't attempt to make a sequel. I think the Watchmen DVD/BlueRay sales will redeem it.

  • It also means studios will be discouraged to make more similar properties (intelligent comic book movies) and just stick with big names (Batman).

  • I understand, but its a trade-off. It's worse when the big studios make a film badly than when no film is made at all. Once a bad version of a film is made (like Batman and Robin), that franchise is in purgatory for years to come.

I like Watchmen. I think it's great. But it shouldn't have a sequel. Unfortunately, it's in the actor's contracts that they have to be part of a sequel, so the only think preventing it is fear of loss.

I don't want another "Highlander 2: The Quickening."

  • how can watchmen have a sequel? there's no source material left.

even if it did they wouldn't make it cause watchmen underperformed.

  • It wont be a a part two it will be a reboot cause when the extreame addition coming to dvd with 40 mins of extra footage it will make a killing so it will probley make about another 100 mill in dvds they will get greedy and as always nowadays a reboot will soon fallow

  • and im talking about watchmen

  • they will want to but they cant because the movie ends were the book ends so either they get the author to write more or nothing new

  • How did Highlander have a sequel? Or Starship Troopers? Or Karate Kid 4? Or "Teen Wolf Too"?

Worst of all: How on earth did Hollywood possibly come up with a Weekend at Bernie's 2?

Sadly, if H-wood thinks that a buck can be made, they will make a sequel whether it makes sense or not. That's why I'm somewhat happy that Watchmen underperformed; though it will discourage future risks, the underperformance will maintain the purity of the story.

  • i think fast and furious will make more

  • I am at war with julia roberts but she doesn't know it.

  • me to lol

  • I found your review is lack of pic a little bit boring,,,,sorry

  • april fools FTW! :D

  • april fools hahaha thats good

  • OH shit! The virus even fucked up YouTube!

  • It was upside down at a point.
