This is exactly why you don't go all in before the flop....Even with pocket Aces i'm sometimes wary of doing this...although that theory wouldn't have held true here..being that he hit two hearts ont he turn and river....Online poker is a crazy thing...I never get these horrible beats in person...it seems like a lot of times you can't lose..then you hit a 500 hand stretch where your opponents suck out or you NEVER hit a flop..just brave through it and you'll get back in the green.

it's a "sick" hand because the player "hit" a "runner runner" flush , something that the "odds" would suggest is unlikely.

the first thing you need to know about holdem is that your hand is made up of "the best 5 card hand made from your two hold cards and the FIVE community cards".

in this video, imagine if the flop came up 8h4h2h - what would odds suggest is the chance of making the flush then? 38 percent vs 11 right?

Pokerstars has more users than any other site, therefore as a nominal (but not proportional) amount, more people will buy into the fallacy, and as this picks up momentum on the internet it becomes confirmation bias. It's all statistics and psychology, PStars uses a random generator just like other sites.
