I recently warred Russia on my campaign and they have at least 15 units stacked on each country, near the Poland border altough I already took all of middle-east, USA, Canada, Brazil, Guatemala and Africa
I have Portugal, Spain, Italy and Japan in the Axis, this game is so awesome.
Instead of invading Russia with 3 Army Groups and 3 million men,
He should have invaded Russia with 5 Army groups and 5 million men,
It would have been game over for Russia in October itself.

In Spring the German front will be outnumbered and low on supplies, whereas the Russians will be stronger.
@cfmonkey454 This was one of my early campaigns where I was most concerned with a successful Sea Lion and Barbarossa, so I wasn't even thinking about Spain. Once I took Russia I went back and solidified my hold on the rest of Europe and started taking over the rest of the world.

@prodigiousbastard I had garrison units all over the place on security detail to reduce the revolt risk to 0. The entire Atlantic coast was covered with 3 garrison units per province to prevent invasion. Releasing Scandinavia as a puppet helps a lot in this regard as it requires a great deal of manpower to keep occupied to prevent revolts.

@Camshaft8989 I didn't support Italy at all, actually. I took out Britain in 1940, so Italy was able to make all that progress on its own. I invaded the USSR May 1941 and the U.S.A. did get involved, as you'll notice the one blue province in the U.K. at the start of the video. Every coastal province in France had 3 Garrison divisions, so that's why there were never any landings by the Allies there.

No, he had actually been planning to attack the Russians for a while. The biggest reason they did was for oil, and the attack very well could've worked if Mussolini had done a better job of keeping the british out of greece (Hitler had to postpone barbarossa because some of the armies he was going to use for the attack were sent to assist Mussolini, postponing the attack until the beggining of summer instead of early spring. Winter is what cost them the war.)
the only reason a second front was open was to invade Western Europe was for the UK and US and gain control of France, BeNeLux, and Germany before the Soviets gained too much power when the war turned on the Germans.
Ah but you forget that Hitler declared war in 1941, but the US did not enter into Europe till 1944. Thus the British and the Americans were letting the Soviet Union bleed until the Germans starting to bleed faster than the Russians.
And thus Stalin was forced to wear leterhosen. :)

nice job annexing Norway Sweden and Denmark and then puppeting them with Scandinavia. I usually don't but sometimes do because of all the IC you save without the partisan activity and the power of that puppet. Especially in higher difficulties though a Scandinavia is a sort of gamey tactic because its a super puppet.

I recently warred Russia on my campaign and they have at least 15 units stacked on each country, near the Poland border altough I already took all of middle-east, USA, Canada, Brazil, Guatemala and Africa
I have Portugal, Spain, Italy and Japan in the Axis, this game is so awesome.

Instead of invading Russia with 3 Army Groups and 3 million men,
He should have invaded Russia with 5 Army groups and 5 million men,
It would have been game over for Russia in October itself.
The main delay in the campaign was the diversion from the initial objective of Moscow and the swinging of Guderian's Panzer Groups, south to assist von Kleist's panzer group in destroying large Soviet armies in the Ukraine, during the encirclement of Kiev.

That encirclement practically anihilated the entire Southern Soviet front. If that hadn't have happened, the entire campaign could've been threatened.
With reserves of such numbers (250,000) left, Stalin would most likely fight even after a German victory at Moscow, which would come at a high cost for the German army and probably take several weeks of very determined resistance. In Spring the German front will be outnumbered and low on supplies, whereas the Russians will be stronger.

@cfmonkey454 This was one of my early campaigns where I was most concerned with a successful Sea Lion and Barbarossa, so I wasn't even thinking about Spain. Once I took Russia I went back and solidified my hold on the rest of Europe and started taking over the rest of the world.

@prodigiousbastard I had garrison units all over the place on security detail to reduce the revolt risk to 0. The entire Atlantic coast was covered with 3 garrison units per province to prevent invasion. Releasing Scandinavia as a puppet helps a lot in this regard as it requires a great deal of manpower to keep occupied to prevent revolts.

@RobinKvanvik "Scandinavia" It happens when you own all of those countries and then you can release them individually or as that larger state. Iceland, which you can't see, was also apart of it. I believe Finland would be, as well, if I had owned it when I released those countries.

Hitler could've won if he wasn't so impatient. If he focused all those forces on the Russian oil fields, intead of there and Moscow, it would've taken much less time. Avoiding the worst winter in decades.

@KAPTAINmORGANnWo4eva Hitler just did some very foolish tactical faults, for example defending the wrong beaches in case of an amphibious assault by the allies to northern France and not letting his troops retreat from Stalingrad when it was possible. Trying to capture Stalingrad instead of just surrounding it. Operation Barbarossa started too late in the first place because Mussolini was so eager to show his own nation's full force by taking over Greece, which failed and Germany had to go help.

i think actually that hitler lost because he didnt make enough ic 36-39, its possible to do 3 runs becuz you dont need so much forces to poland and france, i do that and im a pro hoi2 player. he lost becuz he didnt have enough ic compared to other countries and his rare materials and oil ran out.

@EuroAmericanReich The Nazis were bad, but the two worst mass murderers in history ARE Mao and Stalin. Even if you say WWII was ENTIRELY Hitler's fault (which it wasn't), at max he killed 20 Million people, and Mao STILL killed more.
The Holocaust did happen, but somehow Mao topped it in sheer body-count, and Stalin's Gulags were arguably worse than even the Nazi Death Camps.

The only value the holohoax has is a sad justification for allying with Stalin/Mao.

@Camshaft8989 I didn't support Italy at all, actually. I took out Britain in 1940, so Italy was able to make all that progress on its own. I invaded the USSR May 1941 and the U.S.A. did get involved, as you'll notice the one blue province in the U.K. at the start of the video. Every coastal province in France had 3 Garrison divisions, so that's why there were never any landings by the Allies there.

No, he had actually been planning to attack the Russians for a while. The biggest reason they did was for oil, and the attack very well could've worked if Mussolini had done a better job of keeping the british out of greece (Hitler had to postpone barbarossa because some of the armies he was going to use for the attack were sent to assist Mussolini, postponing the attack until the beggining of summer instead of early spring. Winter is what cost them the war.)

the only reason a second front was open was to invade Western Europe was for the UK and US and gain control of France, BeNeLux, and Germany before the Soviets gained too much power when the war turned on the Germans.

Ah but you forget that Hitler declared war in 1941, but the US did not enter into Europe till 1944. Thus the British and the Americans were letting the Soviet Union bleed until the Germans starting to bleed faster than the Russians.
