  • this looks ancient, 2,5 years on.....

  • @l19981 he looks like a creep

  • @l19981 i think he looks like superman

  • LOL @ not deinterlacing. No, actually not LOL... More like "MY EYES AAAARG!"

  • sharp!

  • apple tv=mac mini

  • @PRINCEofPECICA no! Apple tv is for movies. Mac mini is like a macbook, its a computer without a monitor!

  • You can do all this with almost any loptop or Mini PC running Linux Ubuntu, or Linux Mint... Linux has programs like "Moovida Media Center" that is basically the same thing as front row, but the best part is Linux is free.

  • my friend (who's is very rich) has Mac mini on a 60 inch on he's room.. and he's parents has Mac PRO on a 150 inch Parasonic Plasma tv

  • tawific 0:30 lol

  • 55" tv!!!!!!!

  • When the Iphone wifi's to the Mac Mini does the Iphone get charged for data transfer on the phone bill? (for things like Remote control apps, or movie streaming to the mac mini)

or is it similar to a data link cable?

  • This helped me out allot!

  • I'm sorry but i'm totally confused... But what is Mac Mini anyway?

  • @21268 its basically a laptop without the screen, and much smaller. (great for home TV media centers or servers)

  • @SlibitAndKeepsix ouh i see... thanks

  • @21268 it's like a CPU of a PC, and like a MacBook Pro without the monitor, bring your own keyboard, display and mouse,,,

  • @heighv you mean mac pro...

  • I don't think you need that external hard drive or the additional RAM. I've used old 2007-era mac minis with 1GB of RAM and whatever crappy stock drive came with the mac back then, and everything still seems to work OK.

Hulu, netflix, etc. all seem to work just fine, as well as any movie I rented from iTunes -- I suppose if you have a large library movies you can run out of space -- but even then I would just store them on a different computer and share them.

  • i need a mac mini

  • lol his iPhone says "no service" SURPRISE!!!

  • So I need a separate cable for my audio?

  • @Kavanaghness there are adapters which gives audio to HDMI signal, but they're more expensive, and it probably will be a better idea to use separate audio cable.

  • I don't see why giving it one more ram is making the graphics card more able? It makes no sense.. if you are stuck only 1gb of virtual memory then dont run more programs than needed.

  • good video, i have been using a mini for media center for years and just wanted to say that there is no need for 4gb of ram.... i don't even have a gig and have never had a problem.

  • I cant wait to get a mac mini!

  • u look like bill gates :D

  • can u connect any external ard drive to mac mini

  • You can connect any external but there are some formatting issues to be aware of. First, Macs can read an NFTS(Windows) formatted drive but it can't write to it. A FAT32 drive will work on Windows and Mac but can't hold files bigger than 4 GB. So, the ideal solution is to format the drive to Mac OS Extended using Disk Utility which is in the Applications/Utilities folder on the Mac Mini. Of course, you'll lose all the data that is currently on that drive.

  • @geebones basically.

  • can I even get DTS sound with the mini plug adapter to toslink? I think ther is not more than Dolby Digital 5.1?

    btw. nice vid.

  • If i buy a mac mini can i just plug in a usb keybourd and mouse or can´t I ??

  • you can and kinda have to

  • Yes you can. Remember, the Mini is Apple's entry level Mac but using it as a media center is the ultimate highlight for those who already have a primary Mac.

  • Awesome Video.. Keep Posting

  • i bought a spdif to tosslink audio cable for $5.fuk the spdif adapter - ew

  • what are the minimal recruirements for the mac mini, and do I need dual core for HD movies?( and I use Flex )

  • First Gen iPod Touch!!! YES

  • Great Great Great .....Love this Video

    Thanx ^_^

  • I have one HUGE question, Can MAC MINI run or use a externel Firewire 800 as main hard drive (OS on it)? Thank! I am thinking about buying mac mini than remove internal hard drive and hook up a external firewire drive as mini hard drive 2TB:)

  • yes, clone your external with carbon copy cloner by mike bombich. i am rolling with a 4gb ram mac mini with an 1 terrabyte lacie external.

  • @albert2090

Yeah you can do that, however with hard drives being so cheap now a days you could get a large hard drive that will go in the mini :)

  • nice camera.

    good show

    very informative.

    5 stars

  • thanks!

My Mac Mini is literally feels several times faster after the 4GB ram upgrade and a fast external hard drive. All my apps and docs are now on the external drive.

I thought I had to upgrade to Mac to get a much faster computer.

  • lol i read this article.

  • cool

  • Nice try. Keep it up check out esteembpo + com for social media marketing. sdghs

  • The mini is great as it's low priced (you can get it at $400 at mac mall)

  • so would it be better to get a free agent external than to get a mac mini with a 320 gig hard drive

  • good question, maybe it acts like redyboost in vista, good question im going to look into it

  • Is there anything similar to hulu that can work in Canada... I do know that YouTube is changing soon.

  • Finally Macworld made videos in HD

  • nice

  • i love the mini!

  • deinterlace? :(

  • yay now in HD

  • cool
