Believe it or not, I have this on a Barry Manilow album! Same arrangement - it's the final track. Simialr to his "Oh Julie" alos by Mr. Manilow. Came out on the early 80's - 1983? My albums are boxed up (building a music room) so I can't check which one.
This song was also a hit in 1979 with a UK-group called Racey. Originally written for Blondie (Debbie Harry) but was instead given to Racey as a follow up to their first hit "Lay Your Love on Me"
If you look them up on the internet there is some information about them there. They are a Country Rock band from North Yorkshire England. I only found out about them in the last few years, They have some great songs.
