The original (or first part of the song) was created by a band called 'spirit' in 1967, an old blues band, and Led Zeppelin toured with them and got the rights to use the intro Spirit created in 1967. Which means The Doors DID do Stairway to Heaven before Led Zeppelin but didn't release it as one of their own songs. So technically The Doors did stairway to heaven before Led Zeppelin making it more original than Led Zeppelin's (despite 'The End' being the backing music...)
