And I know Skrillex is basically the Godwin's law of dubstep, but I promise I'm not mentioning him just to hate. To me, the difference is that his music does use a lot of aggressive mid range noise, but still has a kind of upbeat, dance feel to it. The synth lines, instrumentation and structure are all very club-oriented. To the point that with most brostep the drop is all the same exact amount of bars into the song. Whereas this track, this track is just trying to give you an aneurysm.

For me at least, with this song (and others too, I get it from other stuff like Today Is The Day, a metal band, and lots of different types of music) it's not just about the noise but the way it's used to create a really tense atmosphere. It feels like anxiety, you know? In an almost surreal way. Maybe I'm talking out my ass but maybe someone else knows what I mean. >_>

Basically all variations of dubstep, because that is my taste. Some people prefer filthy dubstep to original dubstep, like some people prefer grindcore to mathcore.
