  • Yeah, and I like Dave Grohl MORE than Kurt Cobain!! And that's the truth!

  • I think Dave Grohl recorded this whole album himself.

  • @edyken77 Not at all. In "X Static" played Greg Dulli.

  • @OlympiaMusicTV ahhh you're right. So other than that, Mr. Grohl did all the music?

  • @edyken77 Yeah. All drums, all guitars, all vocal, everything. Another artist who made all tracks in his band was Varg Vikernes from Burzum. And is. Almost every albums are only made by himself.

  • One thing's for damn sure: Grohl and the Foos stuck around. It's goin' on 20 years and they are still making great music.

The debate between Nirvana and Foos fans about "the better band" is rather like the one between the fans of Joy Division v those of New Order. New Order formed out of JD the same way: the suicide of their lead, Ian Curtis. NO have been making music since 1980. The "living" bands' music changes in ways the "dead" ones' cannot, b/c the artists evolve. But praise to survivors!

  • Stop compairing Dave to Kurt! It's like the chicken and the egg debate. Nirvana wouldn't have been as good without Dave AND Foo Fighters wouldn't have happend or wouldn't be as big if it wasn't for Nirvana.

Can't we just rockout to a bitchin song?!?!

  • You people are RETARDED. Kurt Cobain would have never been a TENTH of the musician that Dave Grohl is.

  • @JackWillowbee

if it wasn't for Kurt Cobain punk in the US wouldn't have happend post '94, that includes Foo Fighters. Dave is a fucking genius but Kurt would be on the Mt Rushmore of rock 'n roll. Both are amazing artists/preformers and Rock Gods.

  • @lakerman89 Noooooo. Punk was already here in the U.S. Nirvana just brought it mainstream. I'm not saying Kurt wasn't great. He's just not as great as what everyone pegged him to be.

  • @JackWillowbee

True story. People tend to become more popular after their death than what they are currently known for, and their popularity becomes more of a legend as the years roll by.

  • @JackWillowbee I think you mean "grunge," not "punk." Grunge was amusical phenomenon in Seattle and environs; Nirvana made it the "cool new sound" country-wide. Punk was emerged n the US and UK 1975 - 1978 - think the Ramones, Sex Pistols, early Clash. It was the only real "alternative" to Disco and overproduced MOR. It sounded GREAT back then.

Without punk, there'd have been no grunge.

  • kurt cobain is a god of rock not dave ghrol! stop this shit

cobainians are for two thumbs up! he is only known for nirvana;s drummer that's why

he is dave grohl nothing else

nirvana is #1 if he's not in the band where is he now?

  • @nce2knwu1 nirvana WAS a great band.. well the FOOS ARE a great band present is cooler than past dave ghrol is a very talented guy i'm p´retty sure he wouldbe doing fine!

  • @cordfluidnevoie that is the dumbest thing ANYONE has EVER said on youtube. I don't care if you like The Foos more than Nirvana, thats fine, but the whole present>past is dumbest line ever. does that mean you think The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Rollin' Stones are shit bands?

  • @lakerman89 i like nirvana better than the foos and the stones still rocks in the present would"nt be a lot cooler if the other bands still rocks among us?

  • @cordfluidnevoie "Present is cooler than past"... Only an idiot would say that. Music is judged on its intrinsic quality not when it was created. Moron.

  • @nce2knwu1 I really don't think you understand music at all. Kurt Cobain was an incredibly talented and electrifying performer and songwriter but Dave Grohl is an amazing Drummer and just as exciting performer in his own right. You mean to say a man who was played on countless albums with the likes of QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Tenacious D and countless others, sold millions of records worldwide and has toured filling arenas and stadiums all over the world isn't a legend of rock?

  • @nce2knwu1 your a fucking idiot! BOTH are rock gods. Nirvana was good before Dave, became a worldwide hit after he joined. Chad is a great drummer, but he is no Dave Grohl.

  • OMG, September here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THERE IS A FUCKING FRYING PAN ON THE DRUM KIT

  • @bigfoot9754

No sense prejudging people,I'm sure if you were trapped in a burning car that drummer would risk his life to save your fucking ass.

  • the song is SICK the album is SICK but lets face it, the foo's first 2 albums were shit hot and the only other 1 that comes close is the new 1, me and my band are practicing this song............ its a fucking CHOON!

  • i love the way he is playing with that beautiful guitar

  • i hate that on every foo fighters video everyone comments about kurt. i like nirvana better than the foo fighters but stop bringing kurt into every conversation about dave grohl. dave may lack kurts creative nature but he is just as talented if not a more talented musician. dave is probably one of the most talented musicians and best song writer of this generation

  • @nemo9845 definatly the best drummer of a lifetime hands down

  • I think it's clear that Kurdt (the way he actually spelled his name) would never have found fault in the direction Dave's gone in post mortem Nirvana. Who could?

The Beatles were ok when they started out just like Dave was as a member of Nirvana. But in the Foo Fighters Dave has evolved into the premier rock singer/songwriter of his generation.

Foo Fighters are as important to today's musicians as Led Zep was to kids in the '70s. This is especially true today. Most rock sucks shit now.

  • @mikedonn71 That's sooooo completely untrue. I'm no Zeppelin fanboy, but it's not even close. Like, at all.

  • Quick, kids. Who's the Mexican guy with the bleached short hair on rhythm guitar?

Don't know? Neither does Courtney Love or most other alt rocksters.

If you know who he is, you know one of the reasons that Dave Grohl is one of the most respected men in rock today. He shows respect and gets it in return.

Check out his Probot album too. What's not to love about this guy?

Clearly Nirvana was just the beginning of his career much like Love Me Do was the beginning of the Beatles' one.

  • stop talking about kurt, go to nirvana videos and talk about it NO DON' T TALK about it cuz EVERYONE KNOWS he commited suicide and btw he' s not god

  • just think what would music be like if Dave never took the gamble he did with making The Fighters of the works of Foo..............sacrilege

  • ah, takes me back to 6th grade.

  • @blutocampbell It's William Goldsmith. Dave felt he wasn't as good of a drummer as he hoped for when they were doing The Colour and the Shape in which Dave redid all the drums for it and let William go.

  • @GermanWehrmacht Actually, Dave wanted Goldsmith to stay as their tour drummer, even after Dave felt the need to redo Goldsmith's parts on Color and Shape. But Goldsmith said, he basically had to go out and rebuild his soul, after Dave did that. He declined Dave's offer to stay in the Foo Fighters. I just watched The 2011 documentary, Foo Fighters: Back And Forth

  • The amazing thing about this album is that Dave recorded each song by HIMSELF. All the drums, bass, and guitar done by one man. Dave Grohl>Kurt Cobain

  • Who is the drummer in this,it doesn''t look like Taylor Hawkins

  • @blutocampbell its their frist drummer which dave fired in 96/97

  • @Eldererr Was it William Goldsmith?

  • @blutocampbell yeah ,forgot his name somehow.i dont think he fit in to the band, really.u can hear daves drumming @ study version of Everlong btw.

  • JUMP!!

  • YUP

  • Can you tell that this was directed by the guy from Devo?

  • @lasquid by Jerry Casale.

  • ;) Nirvana style.........

  • man dave looks like a college student here O-o

  • Anyone talking about Kut killing himself is a retard. You all know he "killed himself" with a 12 gauge. What many of you dont know is ypu cant hold a twelve gauge too your dome and pull the trigger with your arms at the same time, the barrel is too long unless you have freakishly long arms, so what most do is take off theyre shoes and pull the trigger with big toe, when kurt was found his shoes were on. Homicide, case closed. Love killed him

  • @Hurleyboy1111 Actually, he killed himself with a 20 gauge shotgun (narrower than a standard 12 gauge-academic, really), but if you're talking about facts, there you are.

    Peace.

  • @Hurleyboy1111 This is also my opinion man !!

  • SIMPLY EPIC :D

  • PS I had this on tape after Kurt did his buisness

  • This is better than Rope!

  • @Flippinslide "All the pawns you gagged and bound"

    Pawns being a chess piece.

So no, it's probably not a reference to Weird Al.

  • is this like an official music video?? I have never seen this before. I thought the only music video they had for their first album was big me

  • Still one of my favorite songs...period!! Who doesn't love Foo?

  • this is the only foo fighters song i like

  • @irishpanic not everlong?

  • @irishpanic No one gives a shit.

  • @92ridethelightning92 obviously u give a shit, y else would u comment? seems like ur just a bitter asshole.

  • @irishpanic Shut the hell up and listen to the voice of God(a.k.a Dave Grohl)

  • @92ridethelightning92 hahahahahahahahahahahaha, ur an idiot. dave grohl god??? kurt cobain is god, still.

  • @irishpanic I am actually educated enough to know that "god" doesn't end up getting pwnd by Courtney Love.

  • yes commercial, if they kept this style they would have got even better. this is the best album they made

  • your a funny guy

  • one dude is a hole fan

  • Bahaha!!!! I love how dave is totally making fun of weird al's cover of seems like teen spirit!

  • what if we all just fucking shut up and just enjoy the song

    :)

  • what if we all fucking shit up about all of this stupid shit and just enjoy the song

  • LISTEN !

  • nevermind kurt or courtney dave can dedicate this song to his ex-wife

  • hey gheffty, i happen to like grunge, or anything hard. im not trying to be nothing but myself. to me only this is great. the rest to me just doesnt appeal to me

  • The one dislike is on crack.

  • One of their best songs I think :)

  • This song was actually sort of about Courtney. Dave said so...

  • that floating tenticle ball thing used to scare the shit out of me when I was 3 or 4

  • this song was directed towards Courtney of course. this is Daves work and u can tell

  • one of my faves.

  • this is my opinion and sorry for my spelling im english lol . and i dont take pride in the fact i think dave has his own personal veiws to music as kurt cobain did , at this period dave was still greaving for the guy that gave him the best fuking opertunity known to man , so whats the big deal if it sounds similar , he learnt from kurt in some way but then he moved on , he was young at this time so stop fuking moaning and enjoy his music !!! kurt and dave a diffrent get itin ur heads

  • this is the only good album they made. the rest is comercial shit that sucks

  • @jgi99 shut up and stop trying to be cool. Honestly people go out of their way to call things mainstream so they can be above it and cooler than everyone else. Honestly none of their albums are mainstream they just moved away from grunge.

  • was that pat smear?

  • @hardymember the guitar player? yeah

  • FUCKING EPIC

  • I love the foo fighters first album because its REALLY SIMILAR TO NIRVANA

  • this is like their version of teen spirit

  • @SebaChannel Thats Nirvana dude this is the Foo Fighters. The both rock but 2 completely bands apart from Grohl and Smear.

  • @Skits84 i mean that this is a heavy song with a cool riff, just like "smells"

  • This video was directed by Gerald V. Casale who is the bass player for DEVO.

  • i think this song is to kurt. like...i'm just gonna keep rockin dude.

  • @jinx7514

why on every foo fighters video I view I see this main idea "everything dave writes is about kurt" ?

Dave is his own man, to get over a death of your friend he wouldn't keep writing songs about him for almost 20 years

  • @darthmoop I hear ya man, I don't think theyre all about him, just thought this one might have been. Believe me i'll take foo over nirvana allll day.

  • Happy B-DAY Dave.

    Rock N Grohl!

  • Darn that flying turd.

  • i dont get this song BUT I LUV IT!!!

  • Seriously? Have none of ya'll even listened to Aneurysm? Any of the versions? This song, aside from having some of the same notes, sounds nothing like it. If anything, a lot of Nirvana songs sounded the same. Just listen to the box set at songs like "Sappy" or "Verse Chorus Verse" and tell me they don't sound like "Lithium" or "Polly".

  • @rittman925 They don't. There are Nirvana songs that sound similiar to other ones but those are poor examples.

  • I don't get it, what has this to do with courtney?

  • Kurt may have been suicidal, but how did he pull the trigger on a shotgun with his toe, when his body was found with Doc Marten's on?

yes, Dave Grohl admitted in an interview with Mojo magazine that this song was about Courtney Love

  • @k9genesis Douchebag. He had Converse One Stars on.

  • Comment removed

  • ok is it just me or does this song's whole structure fit to Aneurysm by nirvana

  • @thebeerfest2008

    spot on old man.

not to take away from grohl, he is a great artist.

but yes, this song is strikingly similar to aneurysm.

  • @dcentc i'm not an old man xD

  • dave used 2 kind of look like glenn danzig

  • F yeah!

  • F-yeah!

  • great song i have the HD 500mb video haha hahah it is vob

i met dave he is lol

  • @onlynewzealand when and where

  • dave's first confession too the murder of kurt

  • ha!

  • @chance1967 are you RETARDED Kurt was Suicidal.

  • @BijjalyGas thank you for capitalising Suicidal

  • @BijjalyGas Kurt may or may not have been suicidal, all you know is what you have read.

  • @chance1967 Err, no. Isn't this song about Courtney Love?

  • @goriasxy I think it was because I remember her talking about how Dave was writing songs about her so she sang one on a radio interview

    /watch?v=lcXxCBJC7DM&feature=related

  • @goriasxy you are correct
