At 7 minutes and 15 seconds we see Sgt Edmund Murrey (personal bodyguard to Churchill for the last 15 years of his life) - I meet Eddie in 1991 when I was an undergraduate at Bath - 1991 was 700 year of Swiss independence and as both our respective wives were Swiss our paths crossed. I was delighted to receive a pair of Churchhill's cigars bands from Eddie. Sadly Eddies has since passed away.
For all of the controversies surrounding this great man he was VERY strong at uniting his people. Churchill was quite a character and his effectiveness was in part due to his strong will and single mindedness of Victory, Period.
@randy95023 Period? Nonsense! Churchill is a historical figure, and historical figures must accept that they will be picked apart, appraised and reappraised again and again. I think this would have been an agreeable prospect for Churchill; anything, as long as he remained the center of attention.
